Really wish this cafe was in my neighborhood. They serve a diverse and fascinating selection of Azorean food, including baked goods. Azorean food shares much in common with Portuguese cuisine, since the Portuguese colonized the islands of the Azores. Also some similarly to Brazilian food due to the common Portuguese colonial heritage. Good coffee drinks and a selection of packaged goods including tinned fish. Can't recommend highly enough if you are a local or just passing through as I was More...

We had a great brunch here! The latte was excellent and we especially enjoyed the home fries and chorizo. There was plenty of seating and also the option to carry out. The baked goods looked delicious.

The food and drinks are great; the owner is sweet and clearly cares about his customers; and the shop itself is cute and clean!

Comfy, welcoming cafe with unique Portuguese dishes! Vegan options, South American style espresso (i.e. good and strong), and a tasty bakery selection. The staff couldn't have been more friendly, even when I had dietary questions. Head towards the back to find two big armchairs, great for reading in with a veggie croquette and a frescura! More...

We cannot recommend the Azorean Cafe enough, both for day to day dining and for private parties and catering. My husband and I have been patrons of the restaurant since it opened. We've loved everything we have eaten there - I am especially obsessed with the presunto breakfast sandwich and my husband loves all the seafood option - we have even tried tons of new dishes and never been disappointed. Elsa also gave us tons of recommendations for our own trip to the Azores and helped make it a huge success! This past weekend, we hosted a private party for my parents anniversary at the Azorean Cafe. Elsa was extremely easy to work with leading up to the party and made everything simple and customized to what we were looking for. She also helped to work within our budget, coming up with a menu that was delicious but also appropriate for picky and adventurous eaters alike. The night of the party Elsa and her staff were amazing. They kept the night moving and delivered on our every need. Our friends and family raved about how tasty the food was and especially the cake Elsa made. Not only that - they couldn't stop mentioning how nice and helpful she was! I can't say enough about our experience. The Azorean Cafe was the perfect place for our event and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it, order catering or have another event here in the future! More...

One of my favorite brunch spots. The service is consistently some of the best I've experienced at any restaurant, it's beautiful inside, and the food (and coffee! ) is incredible. Recommend the chorizo omelette, french toast, and bolo levado (basically the best english muffin you'll ever eat). Don't forget the pick up some of their pastel de nata as well. More...

This is my go to place for breakfast sandwiches: the ham, egg, and cheese on a croissant is phenomenal. Ask for the eggs to be cooked over medium instead of their default, scrambled eggs. Could eat it everyday it’s so good. More...

I had an iced coffee. It was the best I’ve had in the area, hands down. I was also in a hurry, and regardless of being the only staff member in sight (and also the chef! ) the woman in charge was incredibly diligent, helpful, and kind! She first suggested the tuna salad as something that would be quickest so I took her advice. It was literally the best tuna salad I’ve ever had. The decor inside is calming and beautiful, the sandwich was wrapped in the cutest paper and tied with a string. It made my day! I highly recommend this place. More...

After returning from a trip to Portugal and I was jonesing for some octopus, pastel de nata and a bica (espresso). So I visited Azorean Cafe in the heart of Bloomfield. The staff was pleasant, the service great and the food, awesome! I believe the owner is originally from the Azorean Islands, which is where the menu gets its inspiration. I will definitely be coming back here. I’d like to try the breakfast next time. More...

I grew up in a Portuguese household around the D.C. area and there aren’t any cafes or restaurants near by that are Portuguese based so I got excited to hear about this place in Pittsburgh. I go to school an hour away from Pittsburgh but every time I go to the city it is a MUST that I stop by Azorean Cafe, as they have some of the best service and are super friendly. Makes me feel like I’m back in Portugual at my grandmas house waiting for my Pastéis de nata or even some Pastéis de bacalhau (cod fritters). If you love Portuguese food or have ever wanted to try it, this is the place to go! More...

We had a breakfast of traditional Azorean sandwiches..... Warm Cheese and chorizo on Portuguese rolls. The rolls are special-made by Mediterra Bakery using the owner's recipe. Very good! Home-fries had an added flavor twist...probably Piri Piri sauce. Also yummy. Will go back on a Friday or Saturday evening when dinner is served. BYOB. Also has gold certification for sustainability. When my husband and I decide to start a weekend morning here, I love getting one of their breakfast sandwiches with egg, cheese, and presunto (Portuguese ham) on a bolo levedo (they describe it as "kind of like an English muffin", but while it has a somewhat similar appearance, that's where the similarities end) which is light, sweet, and a bit wider. We've also enjoyed their caldo verde (soup with kale, white beans, and ham) and their sautéed olive starter. As far as coffee, whether drip, espresso, or espresso drinks (the second time here I got a sweet latte flavored with vanilla and a small biscuit, today I had the 'frescura' which was an espresso with fizzy water, leading to an espresso with a fluffy foam), we've loved everything we've tried. I cannot recommend this cafe enough, and I'm so glad it's made itself a home in this city. More...
