I operate my practice from private rooms in central Whanganui . Self-care and life balance are important aspects of my practice (I am also an artist). I obtained my Degree in Counselling in 2014, through Bethlehem Tertiary Institute. I work with individuals and couples of all ages in areas of: - Grief/Loss/Change - Stress - Creating a new life story - Self-care - Relationships - Anxiety - Depression - Fear - Anger - Abuse - Suicide Ideation What you can expect if you choose my services - the first 30 minutes are free. Counselling works best when there is a good relationship between counsellor and client. This gives us a chance to get to know each other a little better without any obligation After that I charge $70/hr for individuals and $90/hour for couples. I offer face-to-face and online counselling. I believe it is important to feel free to work through issues in a space that is comfortable and natural, with the client's agreement therefore, I allow space for sessions to run longer than an hour if necessary. In such cases sessions are charged pro-rata. Tools I use in my practice. I am a big fan of using the whiteboard. It is a great way of getting a good picture of the client's situation and identifying possible alternatives. Modalities used: - Mindfulness - Strength-based Therapy - Narrative Therapy - Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) - Person Centred Counselling - Transactional Analysis - Karpman's Triangle - Inner Child work - Creative Therapy - Solution Focussed Therapy - Heart Coherence Technique

What do you love most about your job?

Supporting my clients through change to create a life that works for them

What inspired you to start your own business?

After completing my counselling degree, I took time out to figure out where I and my skill set would best fit in the therapeutic field. I decided to start my own business because I enjoy the freedom to work the hours that suit my life choices. This creates a space that supports growth and awareness for me and my clients.

Why should our clients choose you?

Flexibility - I offer:

- Out of hours sessions.
- The option (with client agreement) for sessions to run over an hour to reach a natural place to stop.
- Face-to-face, online and telephone counselling options

Objectivity - I support clients to engage in life from a different perspective. Using the whiteboard allows me to show clients their life story or area of concern objectively. It can be quite revealing and can create the space needed to highlight areas of potential growth and awareness. No one knows us better than ourselves. However, it can be hard to see alternatives when standing in the place of the difficulty without the objectivity afforded by discussing it with another person.
