Ray James - Cognitive Therapist and Mindful Life Guide. You can view the range of services I offer by visiting my FB page: https://www.facebook.com/raysmindfultherapy/ Due to the current Covid Level 5 lockdown restrictions, I am not able to provide face to face therapy. I will still be offering all services via online or phone connections. About Me I am a qualified psychotherapist, life coach and holistic practitioner with over thirty five years of experience in the field of therapeutic practice, supporting others to achieve their full potential. My work as a Therapist & Life Guide I use a range of techniques and modalities when working with clients. I recognise every person as a unique individual. Therefore rather than expecting the client to fit around a specific model of therapy or coaching, I feel that the method used should be shaped to meet the clients’ specific needs and requirements. It is for this reason that I produce a specific programme of therapy / coaching for each client. Although most of the therapy and coaching that I provide is cognitive based, I also use meridian based techniques and other forms of holistic processes in consent with the client to help clear negative energy and promote positive energy more effectively. All of the therapy and coaching processes I utilise have a connection with Mindfulness practice. My Professional Affiliations and Qualifications I am a member of the Association for Contextual Behavioural Science (ACBS), the British Holistic Medical Association (BHMA) and accredited by the International Institute of Complimentary Therapists (IICT) to deliver IICT approved courses for therapists. My academic qualifications include a PhD, an MSc in Cognitive Psychotherapy, an MA in Applied Ethics in Social Welfare, a BA (Hons) in Psychology, a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and a CertED in Further & Higher Education. I also hold qualifications in a range of professional and holistic practices including Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Meridian Psychotherapy, Gestalt Counselling, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Clinical Hypnotherapy, Jungian Therapy & Shadow Mastery, Holistic Pain Management, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Life Coaching.
My work as a therapist and life guide enables me to support others in identifying their own unique abilities, life direction and to develop their abilities in managing life challenges that can hold us back or disrupt our well-being.
I believe everyone should be given the opportunity to live the life of their choosing. Sometimes we all need some support in being clear about our life direction and how to manage the life challenges that we experience.
Although conventional services offering support for emotional challenges, mental well being and life guidance can be beneficial, they often follow a prescribed pattern or programme. When I worked in such services, I found this approach often restrained clients from being free to explore all options. For this reason I set up my own service to offer a more holistic approach focusing on an outcome based system that provides strategies and processes to manage, cope and reduce / remove the issues that are not serving us and instead develop positive processes that enable us to live in harmony with life - whatever life brings.
I recognise that everyone is an individual with unique ways of functioning. For this reason, I design a specific programme of therapy for each individual client.
I provide remote /online therapy services using a range of choices including video (via Messenger, Skype, WhatsApp, Zoom etc), phone and alternative systems for people who find verbal communication challenging.
The online / remote therapy sessions that I provide are a safe form of therapy in regard to the Covid-19 virus.
