Ilsa Parry

Ilsa Parry

I am a multidimensional design deviant. Put simply a design consultant and product developer. As a "contemporary creative entrepreneur" I create dynamic and intricate interior print, furniture, lighting and fashion collections whilst working with external clients on a range of projects across eight design disciplines (branding, graphics, product, installation, retail, industrial, bespoke, digital). My work is conceptually led to maximise meaningful value and this is generated through a philosophy of experimentation, play and transformational thinking. My work has been featured in 7 published books on design, 2 academic journals plus over 100 national and international newspapers, industry magazines and online blogs such as the Sunday Times, the International Herald Tribune and Design Week. I have been a guest speaker on Radio 4 Women’s hour and several times on BBC Radio Merseyside. I co- presented a “sustainability” design documentary on Brazil for the Discovery Channel Europe in 2010 and was the winning designer on BBC2 Design for Life with Philippe Starck in Sept 2009. My work has allowed me to work and exhibit internationally and I have won a number of design awards for works commercialised through the enterprises I founded, Rethinkthings LTD and MYNE.boutique. As a published writer, researcher, academic, designer, producer and entrepreneur, I aspire to maintain physical harmony between the creative, community and commercial demands of my work.
