What do you love most about your job?
I get to do my hobby as a job, baking is my passion, i love to create cakes and sweet treats
What inspired you to start your own business?
My passion for baking started when I was in year 9 and took Hospitality and catering as a GCSE, it seemed like a fun and easy grade, cooking and eating - sweet plan! I learnt the basics of baking like different desserts from bakewell tarts and scones to cupcakes and cheesecakes. Baking become my favorite hobby but I stopped to focus on my degree.
I started baking again, making 24-200 cupcakes each Sunday for my church then decided to make a cake for my friends birthday – my first ever 3 layered cake, iced and dripped it was a success and tasted delicious (red velvet, yum!). This inspired me to officially start YP Bakes as you now know - baking and selling cakes for someones special day!
