I’m so glad to have found Doolittle Mill. The socialisation meets are a great environment for dogs and their humans. Sam and the team are approachable and so knowledgeable when it comes to canine behaviour. I have learnt so much. There’s a lot on offer there, dogs of all sizes, ages and temperaments are catered for. They have a great space set up. Socials, daycare, training, the lot! We recently took advantage of daycare, I’m very protective of my boy so it’s been a god send to find people I trust implicitly to take great care of him. Booked our 5 month old Cavachon onto the puppy training class. He likes to do his own thing most of the time. Today I took him to a public path and took him off the lead. We used the recall we had been taught in training and the clever little lad came back. Sam knows her stuff and will give other ideas if some don’t work. Thank you so much for helping us. I also cannot recommend Sam and Kev enough, having two cockapoo brothers who with lockdown not socialised as much as normal with dogs or humans, they have been fantastic, seeing the boys come out of their shells and gaining independence is fantastic, got to say sometimes its daunting when you see big dogs all come and greet them (sorry big dog owners as my little Bert is probably more scary) , but I have to say it’s done them the world of good. I was nervous to have a dog walker walk my retired racing greyhound, Casper, but as soon as we met Sam all of my worries were put at ease. Even my shy chihuahua, Buddy, loves Sam visiting! Sam always takes the time to check on the boys, take Casper out for a fun walk and then settle them back down when they return. She even gets a new Kong out of the freezer for them if they have finished theirs from the morning. We completely trust Sam in our house and Casper adores her. Our puppy, Timber, absolutely ADORES Sam!! She’s been doing puppy visits with him since September whilst we’re at work and on those days it feels like Timber is pushing us out the door so that Sam can visit him sooner ? ??? she adapts to anything we need if he’s changing diets or routine, she keeps us up to date on how he was, we receive regular pictures and videos to see his training progress with her and he gets plenty of exercise in his time with her. Being a Cat Sitter and working with animals myself I was nervous about leaving my cats with a sitter. From the moment I met Sam I knew she was ‘the one’ as it’s clear she loves animals and was totally relaxed and prepared when she visited. Whilst I was on holiday she kept me updated on my naughty cats behaviour (my little boy Blue is a bit difficult) and the well behaved one too and I felt reassured knowing my house was safe and that Sam was opening and closing blinds/putting lights on etc which is an added bonus. When I arrived home she had even made sure the heating was on which was fab as it was middle of the night and freezing. Buddy seems to love his walks with Sam and I love knowing he’s in safe and loving hands. I know Sam is making sure he is having fun, learning to be less anxious with other dogs, and staying safe, as well as making sure he gets the exercise he needs when I’m at work.
I also love the text updates I get from Sam ref Buddy’s walks. They’re always brilliant to receive.
I wouldn’t trust my baby with just anyone, and I think I’ve found a bit of a star in Sam!

What do you love most about your job?
Where do I start!! Each day is unique; there is never a day come rain or shine that I do not come away with a huge smile on my face! Whether it's from watching the dogs loon around, helping owners and dogs achieve their goals, playing with puppies, or cuddling cats!
I have a good working relationship with my clients and take pride in helping them and their dogs with any issue they may have. We have a few dogs with disabilities that have grown in confidence so much, anxious dogs that we work with to help show them that the world doesn't have to be a scary place, and whole heap of owners armed with tool boxes to help with ongoing training. It's those things that make me love every day!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I worked in an office as a medical secretary for years. The job itself was great, but being stuck inside all day wasn't for me!
I have been training and caring for people's dogs, horses, cats, chickens, snakes and a lot more from as early as I was able to ride a bike! Animals are my passion; to be able to do this as a job is a dream come true. I just wish I had done it 10 years ago instead of 3!

Gosh, how do you sell yourself?!
I guess I'll start with, I love what I do. Your pet's will be treated with absolute compassion at all times, and their needs and your requirements are always kept to. We send regular updates with photos and messages so that you can see what your pet is up to.
We are very flexible and understand that sometimes, life happens! We are always happy to fit in extra sessions, extra walks and extra visits but equally understand that sometimes you may have booked us, but then not need us. We are friendly and approachable and always contactable, for a funny example (!), I once had a phonecall on a sunday evening from a client to rescue their dog who was stuck at the top of a spiral staircase! Of course, I went out and helped get her down straight away!
As I said above, this is my passion and I feel very privileged to be able to offer Your4Paws services to you.
