Survey buildings properly ( use a professional surveyor ) who will provide a measured survey drawing.
This will include plans,elevations, drainage detail, services, cables etc.
Photographs are useful and save travel time, along with the survey a cost estimate can be made without a site visit.
Prepare and agree DESIGN drawings and visuals. Submit drawings to L.A. planning.
At the same time get builders estimates. Appoint builder once planning approved.
Prepare build regs drawings and specifications.
Plan living around the work or move out before builders come in.

Whatever you like. Best look at Google Images and save a bunch of picture of what you like and use them in the designer briefing
What do you love most about your job?
I like to be able to something very special with something that could have been very ordinary.
I love computer modelling because it allows people to see what they are working with right from the start.
After 20 year of 3D modelling I can very quickly put together a building model from drawings or even from photographs
and a few dimensions.
What inspired you to start your own business?
In 2001 I was made redundant when the exhibition company I worked for closed down.
I then began working in architecture making models and creating photorealistic images for large
regeneration projects in London.
