It's been several months since I ended my coaching call with Will in frustration and tears. I desperately needed help looking closely at the assets within my business and how I was going to move forward, but no matter how much I tried to tell Will this was what I wanted to talk about, he wouldn't let me. The introduction to the session was a 'how are you?' which lead to me updating him on my entire life with my eye on the clock...before I introduced why I wanted to the session. It took til 30 minutes to get to it and even then, as I got into the topic, he changed it to something completely different. I take responsibility for the first 20 minutes. I could have restrained my answer to 'how are you?'. The session had no structure at all and as the client it's not my place to set it. Though I ended up doing so. By minute 40 I challenged him about meeting my objective and could we get back to the thinking I had started at 30 minutes in. When followed was 20 minutes of him arguing with me and my begging to get back to the topic. He wouldn't allow it. He made statements such as "Why would I bother coaching you on this?", "What's the point of me helping you with this, you won't take action!". His one coaching question the entire hour was "what is one thing you can do as soon as you get off this call to move forward with this?" I said "Call my coach so he can help me figure this out" Great he said. Will - you are THE coach I called! I was desperately frustrated as I really needed someone to talk this stuff through with me. I told him that I don't have many people that have the time and capacity to hold space for me to talk these things through, and could he please help me (!). He then said "I don't know what is wrong with you. For all my years Naomi, and all the people I have met, I have never met or come up against the types of people you do, what's wrong with you?" I explained the insight as to why, that I had uncovered with my therapist, but he didn't seem to like this at all, retorting "I am a therapist too you know!". The question and tone was inappropriate in every context, and never more so than in coaching. He soon responded "you know what Naomi, if you want to put me in the same category of all the other twats you've made in your life, go ahead. I really don't care" I was utterly shocked. This was at minute 45 before he'd really revealed himself. I asked him if he would reflect on this conversation and how it had gone so badly wrong, and he said "No, I really couldn't care less, I did nothing wrong". It's been about 5 months since that session, and I've never gotten over it. He took the last of my budget for paid help and I left 10x worse than when I arrived and never got the insights I needed. I can not recommend Will enough. Simple yet such life changing techniques delivered in a fun, relaxed manner. Will recognises things that you might not have yet recognised in yourself, or you have but have absolutely no idea what to do about it.

What inspired you to start your own business?
The entrepreneurial spirit has always been strong in me. Starting my own coaching practice means I can be more flexible to coach the way I know works best for me and my clients, and also it gives me the freedom to spend more time with my gorgeous family too
