I have been training with Will for nearly a month now and can already see changes in my body shape and weight lifting abilities. Although I've had to put in the hard work to see these changes, I couldn't have done it without the knowledge and push from Will.

Will listened to my fitness goals during my initial consultation and devised a custom training plan to help me on my way to achieving them... he's provided continual support over the past couple of weeks, improving my technique and giving me the encouragement to progress.

***PERSONAL ACHIEVEMENT***
I wasnt confident lifting heavy weights when I started the gym, but in this short period of time with Will I've gone from lifting 60kg in deadlift to setting a Personal Best in my first week of 120kg. Now 2 weeks on I've set a new PB of 130kg!!

I'd highly recommend Will if your looking for a Personal Trainer, he's an approachable guy who knows his stuff and is great at sharing this knowledge to help you reach your goals.

After playing rugby for 8 years I’ve picked up a fair few injuries to say the least! My joints also hyper extend which has often been the cause of injury.
I wanted a PT that would understand these injuries to strengthen and condition my joints to improve my game and general strength.
Will has devised a unique training plan targeting my weak points and working muscles that protect old injuries without loading up the weights.
Will incorporates rugby specific exercises, reconstructing elements of the game which is amazing for stance and positioning. He also gives me weekly exercises for any tightness or stretching to relieve pain.
After 8 weeks I’ve 100% seen a difference in the strength on the pitch and has given me more confidence at rugby and also improved my posture!
I love my PT sessions with Will, always really fun and enthusiastic!

I have been training with Will for the last 3 months. Working with Will has certainly improved my strength and confidence in the gym and he has really helped me with technique. Often as soon as I know that something isn't right, Will has spotted it and knows exactly how to correct it which many other PTs would miss. He is obviously committed to what he does and his enthusiasm is infectious. When I've shown up with an injury, he has quickly adapted our sessions to make sure I can still get the most from them.

Will makes the whole gym experience much less intimidating whilst also making sure I push myself as much as possible. He also happens to be massively likeable which really helps. He understands that encouraging people gets the best from them rather than simply pushing them too hard. I'd have absolutely no hesitation in recommending him.

First and foremost Will is an amazing trainer and you would do well to have him as your personal trainer.

Don’t let Will’s age, or boyish charm, make you think he doesn’t know what he is talking about. Underneath it all he has a wealth of knowledge in fitness and rehabilitation. His degree in sport science holds him in good stead, as does his personal experience in weight loss (reads his bio), which cannot be learnt from books.

When I first joined the gym I weighed upwards of 120kg, but more significantly I was having to take 40 units of insulin a day to manage my blood glucose levels, along with a plethora of other tablets (I am type 2 diabetic amongst other things). I was shy in the gym, only using the weight and cardio machines as I had no confidence in using the free weights, and lacked confidence to ask anyone for guidance. In the past I had used Personal Trainers and had bad experiences- I don’t respond to being shouted at military style, or being told I should be able to do a particular exercise due to my age, build, or because I am a man- the answer to “Are you a man or a mouse?” is “I am a mouse and proud of it”.

I decided to join a weight loss group at the gym, called “Pure Losers”, in the hope of getting some help and met Will. His relaxed demeanour appealed to me. He is friendly, professional, gentle, and understanding, but can push you when you need it. Basically he has mastered the ability to tailor his behaviour to give you the best personal experience, whilst remaining professional at all times- a skill I have yet to learn! Being diabetic I am not able to do certain exercises due to the risk of collapsing due to low blood glucose levels. Will was there for me through it all, and after two months I had dropped 10kg and halved the amount of insulin I needed to take.

Since then I have worked with Will at increasing my confidence in the gym, working with free weights, and only use the machines now as finishers. Wills guidance has shown me how good form is better for you in the long term than amount of weight being lifted, and in time you will be able to lift more- without injuring yourself. I am in the gym nearly every morning at 7am and love how my health has improved over the months of training. I feel great, my body is slowly becoming more muscular; fat is disappearing; I am being taken off medication; and get comments on my looks most days.

So when it comes to PT’s I don’t know if Will is the best trainer out there, I haven’t tried them all, but I know he is the best trainer I have experienced and I owe him my health. I may have put the hard work in, but he has given me the direction, and I look forward to the rest of the journey we will have together.

I've been a pure gym member around 7 years on and off, they are well equipped and I can always squeeze out a decent workout. They have one platform usually so it can get busy waiting, but at least they have one. Prices are reasonable and they also do multi access for free or a small upgrade. Classes I don't tend to go to, but my friends say they are pretty good and a great session. More...

By far the best gym I've ever been to. 24/7 access. Spacious. Excellent rig for calisthenics, lots of cardio machines and weights.
Sometimes overcrowded in the stretching area, but doubt it could be done better and space in other areas to stretch if need be.
Friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Pure gym team always around for advice/assistance, and all are very approachable. PT David Gallardo is very knowledgeable in all fitness areas, especially calisthenics. 5 star gym

One of the better Pure Gyms. Several squat racks and barbells. Plenty of benches. Wide open space so you never feel like you're curling weights into someone else's face. A few bits of more interesting equipment (battle ropes, a dedicated bench pressing station). Never been stuck trying to find parking. I prefer this to Union Street and make a point of coming here if I'm ever driving by. More...
