When you start the tunes, have a good look around the hall and see who you have in front of you. Use your skills to work out what you think will be popular. Of course, speak to the host before the event and get an idea of what they like.

I am an understated DJ who will have put a lot of thought into the tracks and sequence I play. If my planned set isn’t working, I’ll change it quick. I encourage requests if they are going to fill the dance floor
