What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
The relationship with you and the client. If there is a great relationship then the subject is more relaxed and better photos result. A great photographer has the ability to build a good relationship very quickly.
The 2nd is the use of light. Understanding how light effects the subject and reflects is so important if you are to create stunning images.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What are they trying to achieve with the images? What is most important to them? How do they feel in front of a camera? What would help to make the experience better for them?
What do you love most about your job?
Capturing moments in time which show or define the personality / emotions of that person.
The freedom to express yourself through the camera lens. The ability to "paint with light".
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have always had a talent for art and photography since I was little. I started at college and had my own darkroom at the age of 13. The buzz I would get seeing my images appear under the enlarger on the paper in the dark for amazing.
Starting my own business was a natural progression for me. I needed to have a career where I was in control and doing something which I had a talent for.
