Had a reservation made online as we regularly do for “a la carte dinner” - 2 adults and 2 kids before the panto.
Arrived to be informed despite the booking it was Christmas set menu only regardless of our booking.
Absolutely unsuitable for our kids and
so restrictive with 6 mains options - 4 meat and two salmon (only one pasta dish with salmon). Was met with another customer going for a fag stating they arrived 1hr prior to us and convinced them to serve them a la carte as they know one of the guys…
Having dined regularly for years never using any cut price offers and always eating from the a la carte menu midweek etc it’s truly disappointing.
I absolutely appreciate it’s 2 weeks before Christmas on a Saturday night however, when a booking for a la carte is confirmed at least have the decency to honour it or call us up in advance rather than making a spot decision that impacts your customers. Not a F given was my appreciation of the situation with no apologies at all.
With two kids we had to now try and find alternative dining arrangements on a Saturday evening city centre.
