Upbeat fitness is a wholly inclusive work out class, professionally run by Nigel and Trina. Each week (Monday and Wednesday ) the programme is different, workouts are as hard as you make them, under the expert eyes of Nigel and Trina they encourage/ cajole you to new levels of fitness.
People of all ages, shapes and sizes are welcome, since I started I have lost well over a stone in weight and used muscles I never knew I had.
Both Nigel and Trina have in depth knowledge of the muscle groups and can help with any strains etc.
Great group, friendly and totally inclusive 10 out of 10!

As my mum runs this class together with Nigel, I am obviously biased! However, I came along to a class a while ago and I have to say I had a brilliant time. There were people with a wide range of abilities taking part and Mum and Nigel did an excellent job at coaching everybody at a level that suited them, making it a safe and enjoyable class for everyone. Most importantly the session was great fun, with lots of banter flying around and a friendly atmosphere. Attending these classes is a must for anyone wanting to improve their fitness- I only wish I lived closer so that I could come more often! More...

I joined the Tuesday night session because a friend recommended it to me. I don't do any other fitness classes so didn't know what to expect but everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Even though it is only one night a week I can feel and see the results The session is hard work but good fun, you really feel like you have done yourself some good. Nigel comes up with ways of keeping the session interesting and 'upbeat'. Good music, competition and time pressure make you push yourself to work much harder than you would alone. It is a great formula that works. More...

I started Upbeat fitness in the New Year; usual thing, New Year therefore plan to get fit and lose weight! However, it is so much 'fun' (can I use that verb in the same sentence as burpees! ) that , amazingly, I am still going twice a week and my husband has also started going to the later class ...and loves it. It's hard to pinpoint what makes it so good. A mixture of: support, drive, variety of activities, friendly banter and healthy competition for a start. Exercise really isn't my thing. I hadn't exercised since having my daughter 4 years ago.....and for several years before that but this has really hooked me. On the other hand exercise really is my husband's thing, having his own exercise room and running a karate club and he too is hooked! Proving the classes really do meet every ability's needs. If you live anywhere near Axbridge and want to improve or just maintain your fitness in a sociable and friendly way, you really should try these classes. More...

Iv lived in Axbridge for over eight years and in that time i did zero fitness, however i have had a lot of red wine ;-), Trina convinced me to give the taster session a go, i wasn't keen as its another commitment, but i went, (how bad can it be I'm a fit man) how wrong i was.

At the start Trina briefed me and told me to do what i could do at the level i could manage, so i got stuck in and OMG i thought i was going to die (think i went to hard)
first session finished and i thought OMG i can't go back it nearly killed me.

I did go back on the very next class and have now been going twice a week and now love/hate it. I'm seeing a big difference in my energy levels and also my body ;-0 its changing for the better.

So i want to write this not to put people off but to encourage them to go and have a go, it doesn't matter what level you are its about what you can do personally, we have all been there and done it. give it a couple of months and you to will feel the same.

Trina and Nigel are top class trainers and have your wellbeing as a priority, if you can't do something they will advice you of another exercise that will suit.

It really is a mixed bag of people, levels and exercises, you will come to love it ;-)

Hope to see you there soon
Thanks for reading

Trina runs a great 'Core Strength' class which has been brilliant for me. In the absence of finding a local ashtanga yoga class, this has been a fabulous replacement, and kept me aching in all the right places so I know i've worked hard! Thanks Trina :)

I attend Trina’s core strength and stretch group on a Thursday evening. I love it as I feel very comfortable among like minded ladies. Trina is great at finding alternatives if a particular exercise is not suitable for someone. She also drives us hard and encourages us all the time. So glad I started coming More...

I started straight after Christmas- I promised Trina I would give it a go and even gave her permission to drag me out of my house if I didn't turn up!
Well she hasn't had to do that yet!
I think it's as much to do with the others in the class - we are all at different levels of fitness but you never feel embarrassed if you can't do an exercise and everyone is so encouraging. Trina and Nigel always come up with a different set of exercises each class so you never get bored and I'm amazed that I can do so much more than I could just a few months ago.

Totally addicted!!
