Having problems with the roof on the extension at the back of the house. I called True Roof as I’ve used them before and was well satisfied.
Wolfe their hands on manager turned up, we agreed a price and start date.
Two days before the start a skip and the new roof tiles was placed on my front drive and scaffold put up in the back. On the day the crew turned up at the house 1 hour late, due to traffic they said. I thought to myself they will probably take a week to do this as apposed to 2/3 days.
How wrong was I. It didn’t take me long to recognise that True Roof had sent me the A TEAM. They were fantastic they never stopped and within Two hours they had the whole roof stripped down all the old tiles ( had to be carried through the house) was in the skip and all the rubbish and all the new tiles were now in the back. It was a really hot day and those boys work like Trojans. They kept me informed throughout the day on their progress. Their skills were second to none. They completed the whole job in one day and the extension roof looks fantastic.
Thank you True Roof and Thank you the A TEAM.
Would I recommend True Roof, One hundred one percent.

So having searched around for a company to re-roof our house we chose True Roof Direct, Reading many reviews it was a mixed picture, but the company said they could do the job within our timescale.
As it turned out because of another job having issues our roof was started a week later than planned, then started the issues.
The scaffolding company turned up the week before the Monday start day with only enough scaffolding to do 3 sides of the house, they thought they were scaffolding a semi !.
Tiles were removed and new felt fitted, but wait! there wasn’t enough timber to do the lathes fully so we had roofing felt blowing around in the wind with an opening being left around the chimney breast for an evening and night.
Moving on to the tiling I noticed part of the guttering had been removed to allow the belt for lifting the tiles onto the roof to be fitted (will return to the guttering later).
Surprise surprise we were 90 tiles short to complete the roof, they turned up the following morning only for the roofer to turn up at lunchtime to fit them, again arriving in a car driven by I assume his wife, no company van here to be seen or at any time.
Looking up at the completed roof all seemed ok until our neighbour pointed out the area around the gable end and the chimney where the lead flashing was not covering the parts it should be.
I contacted the company's director via email and the site manager arrived to inspect the work. Needless to say, he couldn’t apologise enough for what he saw and advised the roofer would be back within a couple of days, as it was the roofer having seen the images I had sent turned up that same day to rectify the matter (we could see daylight in the side of the roof from inside the loft )
Thinking that was the end of issues we sat back waiting for our guarantee to arrive which it did, unlike my tape measure I had lent one of the lads or the mug that I can only assume was broken at some point. Neither of which were mentioned. The site manager did offer to pay for the tape measure when I told him about it I do have to say.
So you may think that was the end of the issues no, remember the gutter .... Well when we had some decent rain the joint where the gutter had been taken apart now leaks dripping water down the front of the house.
I emailed the owner of the company and told them of the issue, I received an email the day after saying the roofer would be out within the next 10 days, we are now approaching 3 weeks since that email with no sign of anyone. I sent another email a couple of days ago and as yet have had no reply.
We have a flat roof on the side of the house that is littered with concrete debris I suspect the gutters may be full of debris also.
So in summary, while the roof may at present be keeping the house dry I reserve further judgment for a few years as to its actual performance. The process to get to it still isn’t completed.
I would like to have been able to say we are happy with True Roof Direct but sadly that isn’t the case so far, This last issue with the gutter and failure to so far to resolve speaks of an unprofessional company with a team of roofers that really don’t have any pride in the work they do.

Thad a few delays to the start date but nothing which could be helped, was kept informed in good time. The roofers who turned up to do the job were quick and thorough with what they did, I had a full new roof guttering etc and my gable end chimney removed. It was done within a few days. "Not for the Faint Hearted" Roof fitted last March " Horrendous Experience" Sent a contractor without my knowledge or consent to fit my roof.
Multiple leaks, gutters not fitted correctly, damage to property, mess everywhere and left... list goes on.
Got no warranty and no guarantee as firm will not recognise my problems despite photographic evidence sent. Customer service is awful. Trading standards involved, court case in the making.

Just had my roof replaced this weekend and True Roof did an amazing job. From start to finish, the whole team from the office staff to the lads, were professional and friendly.
They are extremely reliable and turn up when they say they will and do a great job. They also clean as they go and at the end.
When pricing the job, the supervisor was very informative and honest. I assumed the whole roof needed replacing but he told me that the little off shoot at the back was fine, so didn't take more money than needed. That's a fair and professional company.
Their prices are very competitive too.
I will be telling everyone about them and recommending them. Especially in this day and age when there are so many cowboys about, you can definitely rely on True Roof to do a great job. 😁
