I am a female personal trainer who specialises in fat loss, weight loss, strength training, postural improvement and pre & post natal training. I work with clients in Brighton & Hove at their homes or outdoors. To achieve results I recognise that my clients require so much more than a weekly session with no guidance in between.

Xanthe was a great trainer, she understood my body and was able to make sure I was training safely and effectively. She's really lovely to work with and has a good system to keep you on track! Would recommend!

I found Xanthe after piling on the weight after university, I lost a lot of confidence in the gym because of the weight I’d gained and because of the muscle strength I’d lost. Xanthe helped me increase my strength and stamina and brought back my confidence in both myself and the gym. I trained with Xanthe for an hour once a week via zoom and completed two set 30 minute workouts in my own time that Xanthe had prepared for me. These were postnatal sessions after having my baby 8 weeks prior. The sessions were great, Xanthe would always talk me through every exercise and explain how to engage specific muscle groups to get the most out of each rep. I would finish each session feeling energised and like I’d had a challenging full body workout.

Xanthe provided me an info pack prior to starting our training which explained very useful nutritional tips. There was special emphasis on how to include enough protein in your diet to help with recovery post workout.

I have gained knowledge in how to train safely and effectively postnatally. I also have a greater understanding of how to use the breath to help assist your body under exertion.

I would absolutely recommend training with Xanthe. Although the sessions were via Zoom I was still given enough feedback to fully understand what I was meant to be doing and to feel comfortable that my technique was correct and I wasn’t putting my body at risk of injury. It was a fantastic balance of feeling challenged but not completely out of my depth.

Xanthe is amazing! I have been training with Xanthe twice a week for nearly 6 months now and I can’t believe the progress I have made. When I first started sessions I was overweight and had terrible posture from working at a desk all day. Now I have reached my goal weight and stand tall with no aches or pains. As well as feeling changes physically I also have felt myself become more and more confident as the process has gone on. I actually look forward to training and feel it provides a great structure to the rest of my life. Xanthe has a very holistic approach to training and has helped me understand how nutrition and other lifestyle factors can help support my goals. You would never find me in a gym, the thought of being in doors and training in-front of people put me off ! That is now history, since joining the gym and taking up personal training with Xanthe.
I have pushed myself to new limits, I have seen results in just weeks and continue to set new goals. Thanks to the programmes tailored to my personal targets and body structure , monthly reviews and continuous encouragement from Xanthe, I have gained confidence and feel super comfortable training together and independently. Xanthe has been my personal trainer for over a year now. I typically train with her once a week, it’s always a pleasurable and fulfilling experience.

Over that time, Xanthe has provided a really personalised service, delivering varied and enjoyable sessions that are tailored to my personal goals. Xanthe takes time to explain things clearly, which has really helped me to improve my technique and fitness levels.

The short answer: I love training with Xanthe.
The long answer: Xanthe is a fantastic personal trainer. When I first started training with her I was overweight and felt extremely self conscious working out in the gym because I didn’t really know what I was doing. Over the year I have trained with Xanthe, she has really focused on my form and with that came a confidence to start working out on my own in the gym.

From the very first session, she made it clear that she wasn’t there to judge me she was there to help me and that attitude has been prevalent ever since. I think this is such a lovely quality in a personal trainer because it means I’m never afraid to raise a concern about an ache or a question I might have and ultimately this stops me from doing something stupid and hurting myself. She intuitively knows my limits and whilst she definitely motivates me to reach them she doesn’t make me feel like I need to push past them.

She’s also that perfect combo of encouraging and enthusiastic without being a drill sergeant or someone I want to tell to shut up. She makes me want to do the exercise which is something I didn’t was possible. I actually look forward to my sessions with Xanthe!

Xanthe is has been great through lockdown as well. She’s been very creative and flexible with the small amount of equipment that I have. She varies the exercises we do just as frequently as if we were in the gym so it doesn’t get boring and I keep enjoying my work out.

10/10 would recommend to everyone, especially anyone feeling a bit self conscious or nervous about working out!

I recognise that everyone’s lifestyles are different and therefore there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach to training. I work with my clients to create programs that will fit into their daily life with realistic goals. And, an important part of maintaining motivation and focus is by monitoring my clients progress. This allows us to ensure we are working at the right level and adjust/lower intensity when needed.

Consistency is key and it is important to apply this to both exercise and nutrition. Together we will work towards structuring a program than can fit in to your everyday life. In order to maintain this structure I will keep you accountable by regularly checking in and monitoring your activities over Whatsapp and on a shared spreadsheet. My professional knowledge will also ensure that you are being prescribed the right tools for you. For example, some exercises can be more effective for some people to perform than others. Because of this, I only make an exercise selection tailored to your body and abilities.

I feel incredibly proud when I see a physical change in a client. But what I really love most about my job is seeing the internal change in a client, how this affects their confidence, and helps them achieve other goals in their everyday life.

Movement has always been a big part of my life. I have gone to dance classes from the age of two and trained professionally. I have experienced the physical and mental benefits of being connected to my body. However, it was not until I started resistance training that I really understood how powerful being in control of my body makes me feel and how much this can positively affect other aspects of my life. I want to share this experience with others and help them realise how enjoyable and rewarding exercise can be.

Rather than another exercise fad that you might ‘get lucky’ with, personal training with me provides a clear and practical process that, when followed correctly will give you long term results. I have strong processes in place to ensure my clients achieve their desired results whilst remaining sensitive and understanding of each individual’s needs. I have an approachable and friendly personality and love making sure the sessions are fun and enjoyable whilst keeping you on course to your goals.

Yes, in addition to face to face sessions, either outdoors or in the gym, I provide sessions via video call. I am also an online personal trainer which gives me the ability to provide personal training services without scheduled sessions.

All equipment is sanitised before and after use. For outdoor sessions I encourage clients to bring their own exercise mat to prevent transfer. I keep a 2-metre distance from my clients. For indoor gym sessions I also wear a face covering.
