Majorly disappointing! Feel sorry for the bar man who was super accomodating and lovely. The only asset to the business. The cook can't cook. Dougies frozen Yorkshirer's, smash potato, grey beef and dry skinned carrots was laughable. The food wasn't even seasoned and the dog genuinely even avoided it. I get the impression that this was once a delightful pit stop but it seems Doug (who we were told was the owner as well as the 'chef') has chased all his staff away and now his mate is trying to help him out and he's winging it in the kitchen. We ate some food because we were starving but honestly, Doug needs to find a new job. And No Doug, in response to your "we know your kind around here" comment, we aren't gypsey's, we just think you should know that if your car park is empty and so is your pub, its probably because your food is absolutely shockingly bad mate. Time to throw the towel in pal and get a decent Chef. Let the place shine. More...

We were attending a wedding in Knutsford so we booked the windmill for an overnight stay. The whole place is very clean, the bar area, entrance and corridors and the bedrooms. The bedroom we had was very spacious with a much larger than average en-suite bathrooms on. The bed was very comfortable and we had tea & coffee making facilities in the room. We had a great nights sleep and the room was surprisingly quiet, we did not hear any noise from the road at all. Breakfast was great, well presented and very tasty. Finally the owner and all the staff that we encountered were very friendly and welcoming. They all went above and beyond to make our experience a very positive one. We would not hesitate to stay here again, and intend to return soon. We would certainly recommend to all. More...

After our visit to the royal Cheshire show we stayed here as a Fammily of 5, we stayed in the new refurbished house next to the pub, this has 3 double bedrooms and a great lounge area. we were well looked after and we enjoyed a two corse evening meal with drinks. The kitchen were excellent and changed a starter into a main meal for one of our children. we also enjoyed a great selection of desserts. After a good nights sleep we had a great full English breakfast followed with some magic 🪄 excellent experience we will definitely visit again. More...

The staff at the Windmill Inn were all friendly and they went out of their way to ensure we were happy with everything about our stay. We had fish and chips for our evening meal which was delicious, service was excellent and the food was very reasonably priced. The rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet even though the pub is next to a busy main road. Full English breakfast was served in the breakfast room, was piping hot and excellent. This was our first overnight stay since covid and we felt very safe throughout our stay. I would definitely recommend the Windmill Inn to others. More...

New landlord helpful. Gave car registration to get free parking. Failure to do so = fine to pay. Moist fish in crispy batter with chips & peas. Good polite service. Handy when visiting Arley Hall. Will go again. Sanitizers, respectful of distancing. xx More...
