Amazing food and amazing service. We love Tailors Arms, very accommodating and informative with my dietary needs. I am biased because my daughter works there. I am purposefully leaving this review this way because the owners are wonderful employers and treat their staff with love and care. I truly believe this is why the service staff and chefs are so good at their jobs and give diners such a lovely experience. Confusion about Sunday lunch. Told a 20 minute wait upon arrival. Then told no service after we'd bought drinks!I appreciate walk-in Sunday lunch is hit & miss, but I do think we were shafted!

First visit and we’ll definitely return. Good food, great service, nice atmosphere. The only negative comment I would make is that there is too few fish dishes on the menu, sea bass for starters but not for main, only battered fish with chips or salmon fillet on the main course menu. The service from start to finish was brilliant, Nothing was too much trouble. The waitress that was serving us was extremely polite and courteous. We had a moment from the youngest member of the group who ordered one flavour ice cream from the kiddy menu but got flavour envy when it was brought out and it was dealt with very quickly and effectively. Despite not having been in the pub since its recent refurbishment we booked the Tailors Arms in Wilford for a family gathering after a funeral at Wilford Hill crematorium. Four days ahead of the funeral we went in to talk to the owner, Theo, who filled us with confidence that we had chosen the correct venue, he could not have been more supportive or professional. We were allocated a specific area of the pub which was for funeral guests only and we were assured that members of the general public would not be allowed in. We discussed and agreed on the format of the buffet with both vegan and vegetarian options available if required. We were a little uncertain of the numbers he would have to cater for but again Theo was not fazed by this saying that he would provide more food on the day, if we thought we were running short.In the end we had around 35+ guests a mixture of ages and there was plenty of space for everyone, the room was light, bright, airy and very comfortable. The buffet food was excellent with traditional sandwiches, quiche, sausage rolls and warm pork pie (which seemed to go down particularly well with our guests). The sweet treats included bite sized brownies, muffins and some homemade scones which were huge, served with butter and strawberry jam, they were delicious. Tea and coffee were freely available in the room.The staff did a really good job unobtrusively clearing used glasses cups and plates away and although the pub was quite busy whilst we were there (it was Tuesday afternoon/evening) no one bothered us. At no time did we feel rushed or under pressure to get out of the room. Organising a funeral is always a stressful task, but dealing with Theo at the Tailors Arms made that part of the day easy. Been here a few times and have always had excellent service. Very friendly staff who seats us promptly.
