The station lady in charge of ticketing information deserves special praise. She not only helped escort my disabled sister to the train but also cleared a path for her (! ) amongst commuters but enabled an appropriate seat to be vacated for her. She then spoke to the driver (!) and emailed ahead to enable her to be met by helpers at the next station and then escorted to the correct platform for her next connection. That is excellent service - thank you to that lady at Stowmarket. My sister confirmed this had happened :-) More...

Five star service from an extremely helpful female member of staff this morning asking customers on the platform if they needed any assistance regarding collection of tickets.

A really beautiful building with poor facilities for a station on the mainline to London from Norwich. So many opportunities for improvement but it's just not quite there.

There's a few good parks and a really good museum in the town, probably the best one in East Anglia. Good for shopping if you look outside the town centre
