Having been to this pub a few times over the past weeks, we have been charmed by their consistently helpful and welcoming manner. All members’ of staff seem to genuinely care about this place and their patrons and despite the many obstacles thrown at them (eg. Lockdown/semi-lockdown/Eat outside...Oh look, it’s windy...rainy..../ta da!!... everyone can eat inside now!), we have found this place to be warm, welcoming, unflustered and with good, honest pub fare. Disappointed that after booking a table in the marquee for 3 people, we was told rather rudely by Harry that we hadn’t booked a table in the marquee and that we would have to sit at a table outside. There was 2 tables booked in the name of my friend Lisa one for 2 people and the other for 6 under the name of (Cook for your information my friend is Lisa Cook)people. Also we was told that she had phoned and cancelled the booking! Outrageous and rude! He asked us what was we doing sitting at the table. We have travelled from London to meet up with our other friend who we haven’t seen for over a year due to lockdown. Not impressed with Harry’s customer service/attitude. Food though was good. More...

Stopped for lunch al fresco on Sunday after a long bike ride. Had a table right by the river which was beautiful. The service and set up owing to covid was brilliant and didn’t affect our experience at all. The food was simply delicious! Had a delicious fish and chip meal for two delivered Friday evening. Very tasty and generous portions. So pleased to be able to order gluten free.
