This really is the real deal. We have been hoping to try a Mail from the Podgy Punjab for sometime but circumstances kept making it difficult. Finally we got the opportunity and I have to say it was well worth the weight. On the other hand I wish we had been eating it for months because then I would’ve had more of it. We had the desi chicken with naan bread and two of the Samosa chaat. Utterly delicious. I didn’t want it to finish As it was so tasty, but that is just great because there was plenty of it. We will most certainly be ordering again and again and I can highly recommend this. Forget the slurry that you get in most Indian restaurants. Try proper Indian food. You won’t regret it. More...

We had a meal for 4 on Saturday evening, and it was incredible! Honestly the best takeaway food I’ve had in a long time. We had vegetable and lamb samosas, then had a butter chicken curry and a spicy chicken curry which were amazing! The rice was lovely and fluffy too, we also got a vegetarian curry and some Bombay potatoes which were very nice. We order the roti, naan and bhuktara breads which were very tasty. Looking forward to trying again soon! Thank you very much gutted we didn’t find you sooner ❤️👌 More...

What’s your signature dish?
Our signature dish is Desi Chicken Curry - which consists of tender, marinated chicken breast pieces slow cooked in an authentic, punjabi style, thick tomato and onion sauce.
How do you go about creating the perfect menu for your clients?
We do this by first considering the type of event being catered for to help us determine the type of food to serve. Then we would discuss the clients preferences, allergies and preferences - such as their favourite dishes. We would suggest a variety of dishes so that there is something for everyone and point out the dishes that we specialise in. Once we have created the menu we would ask for their feedback to help fine tune any dishes.
What do you love most about your job?
Punjabi food is one of the most diverse and delicious cuisines in the world, and we love sharing our love of it with others. We get to see the joy on people's faces when they try our food for the first time, and we love knowing that we are helping people to experience something new and exciting.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I was inspired to start my own business by my passion for my mothers home cooked food and my desire to share my love of it with others. I had always dreamed of opening a restaurant, but I knew that it would be a lot of work and that I would need to save up a lot of money. So, I decided to start a small catering business instead.

Our love of punjabi food is evident in the dishes we create. We use fresh, high-quality ingredients and take the time to perfect our recipes. You can taste the passion in our food, and we hope you will appreciate the attention to detail. We are also experienced and knowledgeable and have been cooking and eating Indian food for many years, so have a deep understanding of the cuisine. We are Food Allergy Aware certified and are also familiar with different dietary restrictions and can accommodate your clients needs.
We're willing to work with our clients to create a menu that meets their specific needs and budget and also flexible and can accommodate last minute changes. Yes, I can provide my services online or remotely. You can order your food online or by phone, and we will deliver it to your event location. You can also choose the delivery time and date that works best for you.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We require all staff to wear masks and gloves when handling food. Hand sanitiser is always available and used regularly. During covid we only accepted online orders as well as contactless pickup of orders.
Hot Curry Buffet - Indoor/ Outdoor
Indoor or outdoor buffets options include a selection of 2, 3 or 4 curries ranging from our hugely popular Desi Chicken, Murgh Makhani (Butter Chicken), Desi Lamb curry through to our just as popular vegetarian choices including Chole Masala (Chick pea curry) and Paneer Tikka Masala - all served with our fragrant cumin infused rice and\or naan with sides of raita and salad.
Punjabi Street Food - Indoor/ Outdoor
Outdoors we offer a street food experience where we host a popup kitchen in your garden or drive; serve freshly cooked food from our popup direct to your guests. Our Street Food packages include our selection of veg and lamb samosa, veg, fish or chicken pakora, desi loaded keema chips or our boneless chicken tikka served with a crunchy fresh salad, garnished with fresh coriander and a selection of chutneys on an open naan. We also offer a vegetarian option of Chilli Paneer.
