I had a great experience at The Picture House. I initially purchased a voucher on Groupon for the shoot, and wasn’t expecting much. However, the experience was great. The makeup artist, Alex, was top notch. The photographer, Derek, was an awesome photographer who took some really great shots and had some very unique and interesting ideas for the type of shoot I wanted. Prices are typical of a normal photoshoot, about £50 odd per image. If you know and expect this going in, you won’t be surprised when you see the prices. All in all would recommend. More...

The photoshoot was so much fun and Derek caught the personalities of the family straight away and got some great photos which were natural and not forced. There was really attention to detail. We really struggled to choose our prints because they were all so good and the photo deals were really reasonable given the quality. After the photoshoot Derek and his colleagues were really helpful with narrowing down the prints and choosing the ones to get printed. Would highly recommend! In a nutshell - a very professional studio with the professional management and staff you would expect. Their added value lies within their specialised talent and every individual was warm and forthcoming. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Communication and understanding the brief.
Whether a commercial client for product shots or a family portrait session, making sure you plan and prepare accordingly to understand through your clients eyes exactly what they’re looking to achieve.
And above all, skill and experience. I’ve photographed literally thousands of people from all walks of life all shapes, sizes and ages, I surround myself with a great team and together focus on exceeding all expectations

What’s the purpose of the images. Whether personal or commercial, understanding the purpose is the key to understanding the brief

Working with people helping to Create something out of nothing that exceeds expectations
What inspired you to start your own business?
I started the picture house London because I knew I could do a better job to a higher standard, giving a better experience than what was currently on offer.
Why should our clients choose you?
I have been running the picture house London for 9years, I have had the pleasure to help create wonderful images for thousands of people during this time and I truly believe I’m doing something right with a service people really value and appreciate
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We’ve followed all government guidelines in order to look after our team and our clients. The studio is UV sterilised each evening as well as all equipment including make up brushes etc. There is hand sanitation stations throughout as well as each person who enters is temperature checked.
Photography
The picture house is owned by Derek Miller, a Portrait photographer with 15years experience. Offering photography for all purposes, commercial or private.
Hair styling and make up
Derek has put together a pool of make up artists over the years, some of the best in their industries , that can be made available should any client require it. We can quote with and without this service
