Contact springs in the SIM reader on an iphone 3GS had broken, I viewed the repair process on youtube and it looked a very fiddly soldering job needing a steady hand, good eyesight and removal of mainboard - I didn't trust myself to do this so I took it to The Phone Base - repair was done in 2 hours while I went shopping! Also got some good advice from the owner on drying out mobile phones that have been dropped in water... like my Nexus 5 :-( .... don't use the bag of rice method that you read about on the web - circuit boards are likely to corrode! Going to take my N5 in to see if PhoneBase can salvage it economically. I highly recommend the Phone Base for fast, friendly service, a knowledgeable owner and very reasonable repair prices compared with other quotes I had. Many thanks. More...
