About

Hi, I'm Oisin (pronounced O-Sheen, it's an unusual one!) I've gained experience in various aspects of construction since 2017. I've been a client many times before working in construction and feel this helps me understand the concerns and frustrations people tend to have with their experience of tradespeople.

Oisin undertook a project for me recently. He was clear and polite in his communications with me about the timelines and actually completed ahead of time. He was professional throughout, the quality of the work was excellent. I would recommend him without hesitation and will be using the Patina Project again in the future. More...

Brilliant to work with, friendly, professional, diligent. Carried out a range of projects to a very high standard. I would not hesitate to use Pantina Project again.

Q&As

I really enjoy the transformation, stepping back and seeing the results and knowing it's my work. I enjoy the moment when you show the work to the client and seeing their reaction! Obviously, I enjoy working with my hands, I like the variety, the different little challenges I find myself coming up against and also, the conversations. I get to have cups of tea with really fascinating people!

Admittedly, it was slightly accidental! While working for firms across London, I've managed to have good relationships with clients and over the years, customers have asked for my number asking if I could come back to help them. I've enjoyed that close relationship with clients, it's more personal and trusting than working for a larger company where I'm just one of many people that could be sent to your home.

I'm very honest, if I can't do something I'll tell you and see if I can help you find someone who can. I stick to what I've proven to be good at. I feel that I understand the relationship between client and professional, if I work with you, I'm in your home, you may have kids, visitors, you may be working from home and have calls and meetings and I'm conscious and considerate of that and will talk with you about how best to accommodate what you need while I get my job done. I take time to ensure quality in the way the work is done and the way it's finished and presented to the client.

I'd love to be able to do my work by teleporting a hologram to the job, but until that's invented, I actually have to turn up!

I communicate and ask how the client feels and what their stance is on Covid, if they have any concerns around health matters and if they'd be more comfortable with distancing, masks, sanitising and measures like that to ensure they're comfortable.

Services

I really enjoy the seeing the transformation of a space, whether it be unloved and worn out to just needing a freshen up. So I take particular pride in how I go about giving homes a new lease of life, looking brighter and renewed.

I take time on the making good, it's very important. And want each detail in my finish to be exact, giving the desired result.

N.B - I don't do wall papering. I prefer painting at stick to what I'm good at.

I have qualifications and experience in tiling and really enjoy it. It has a kind of meditative effect when I'm focused so closely and it demands perfection, which I like.
N.B - I don't take on projects involving abstract or herringbone patterns, there's only so much perfection I can chase!

I have good wood working skills and am happy to take on projects requiring some light carpentry. Skirting boards, architraves, boxing in, shelving, basic cabinet and storage construction and jobs of that scale and nature.

I can assist with a range of general tasks from flatpack and other furniture assembly, constructing and fitting shelves and storage units, installing cabinets and fittings/fixtures and light repairs.
I'm happy to discuss any tasks that are needing doing and offer my help if I can!

I've done a number of flooring installation projects of various scales, specs and materials. I'm very familiar with laminate flooring and engineered timber flooring and always aim for that eye catching finish.
