What kind of accounting services do you provide?
We provide full accounts and tax services including but not limited to VAT, business tax, personal tax, payroll, CIS returns including ad-hoc services such as applying for furlough grants and various different business grants.
Why is it so important for businesses to hire a great accountant?
It is extremely important to ensure you hire a qualified accountant who is competent and can deliver what you require. Ensure you check their credentials that they are indeed qualified by checking their qualification certificates and if in doubt ask for reference.
What do you love most about your job?
I love building a relationship with my clients and getting involved with understanding their growth plans as this is where I excel. It is all about becoming an extended part of my client's business. I truly believe you can only be good at what you do if you truly enjoy it and since I have been doing this for now 20 years, it is only because I am absolutely passionate about it.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I am not your average accountant and have been an entrepreneur since the age of 16 as I first started building web sites back in 2000 before deciding to begin a career in finance and accounting. I always wanted to run an accountancy business as I realised that I could contribute to the success of small business by lending my expertise and know-how. The success formula is very simply, which is that if I provide the right accounting and tax support strategy to help the business flourish then we both succeed together.
Why should our clients choose you?
I am a qualified and licensed accountant experienced in operating accountancy in small, medium and large (£500m+) businesses. I have run successful businesses myself providing both manufacturing and services businesses, so I naturally have the entrepreneurial zeal that not all accountants have. This allows me to understand my client's point of view so that I can have their interest at heart. I am also very flexible and do not switch off at 5pm, if it is urgent for my client, it is urgent for me too.

As the name of our company clearly defines us as 'TheOnlineAccountancy.com', so we work remotely and have our accounting team available remotely and accessible through the day every day. When there are urgent issues, we can set-up video conferencing via Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet or any other medium. We are reachable via WhatsApp and phone as normal. All our systems are built using cloud-based software, so we will not need to meet in person and all signatures are obtained digitally and filings are completed online to HMRC and Companies House using state-of-the-art leading tax and accounting software.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We have made full adjustments to comply with government restrictions to keep our customers and staff safe during these challenging times. All our staff are now working from home but with full access to hardware, software and communication devices, which does not compromise delivery quality to our customers and in fact has boosted the availability of our staff as there is less travel to work required. Instead of meeting our clients face to face for urgent matters, we offer a video conferencing facility to keep everybody safe.
Bookkeeping

Full Accounts Preparation & Submission
Prepare year-end annual accounts for filing to Companies House and HMRC as well as the annual confirmation statements as required by law.
Company Tax Return
We will compute your corporation tax liabilities and submit the CT600 form to HMRC ensuring to correctly work-out allowable and disallowable costs for tax purposes.
VAT Returns
We will prepare and submit VAT returns digitally using MTD compliant software that transmits to HMRC instantly and confirm this back on a quarterly basis depending on the VAT scheme you are set up for. If you are not set-up, we can set this up all for you.
Payroll
We provide a full payroll function and can report wages to HMRC on a real-time basis as well take care of all your pension obligations and can set your employees up on auto-enrolment as required by law.
CIS Returns
We specialise in providing services to construction industry and have several clients that are on the CIS (Construction Industry Scheme). We will prepare and submit your CIS returns monthly and will look to get you gross status registered when you hit the criteria, so that you can keep as much of your cash at source to facilitate a positive cash flow.
Accounting Software
We use QuickBooks and Xero as the leading cloud-based accounting software for all your accounting needs.
Depending on the type and size of business you operate, we will deploy one of these packages to to facilitate the accounting processes.
These software connect directly to your bank account, which will automatically download all your banking transactions on a daily basis in real-time in to our accounting software, which means no more downloading to excel and sending them across via email.
Personal Tax Return
We will complete your annual self-assessment tax return (SA100) as we have been doing this for many years for individuals with various forms of background covering self-employed, freelancers, contractors, directors as well as the retired.
