Just popped in to the restaurant, for Sunday lunch, with a couple of visitors. All three of us super impressed with all 3 courses, especially when you have starters and mains and desserts come free. I wasn't expecting too much if I'm honest having been suggested local eateries when I first moved to Kessingland, to find myself thoroughly disappointed. Not the case here. The food was presented well, tasted excellent with all courses having a wonderful richness to them. So good was the food, equally matched by its' young, but professionally attentive staff, (a lot of places locally could learn from them I think), I had already decided that I'd be returning for a dinner menu quite soon before our meal was completed. Also good to hear that menus are seasonal, therefore changing every few months, making the most of seasonal veg and food availability. More...

Well what can I say! I’m going to be honest we came to the Hog in October with my parents, friends and my son.(7 in total) the place looked amazing, the menu was amazing, the service was shocking! The manager was fantastic very apologetic explained that he and his wife had not been there long and they are working out the glitches! “Please come back and let us show you what we can do?”. WOW!!!! Did they show us!!!! From the moment we walked in the door we were treated like kings and queens every single member of the Hog team was friendly attentive and super happy to answer any questions that we had!!! The food was superb and presented with care. We chatted to the manager and spoke about the award they had just won and what we had all been up to since October he treated us all like old friends and it was amazing. We went for dinner. We were very well looked after and dinner was excellent and delicious. The menu offered a good selection of meat,fish, vegetarian and vegan choices in both starters and main courses. The choice of desserts was also good, the trio of rhubarb was delicious and not sweet, an excellent end to the meal. I did not study the wine list and just enjoyed a glass of rose. We stayed the night in the Pakefield Suite for Valentines. The suite was so lovely, absolutely spotless, beautiful decor, really spacious and included everything we needed. Our evening meal was perfect - beautifully presented and tasted amazing. We were very impressed! Top marks to the chef! 🥇 The staff are all so friendly and work so hard - with it being valentines evening the restaurant was fully booked yet they still managed to cater to our every need and made sure we were well looked after. Lots available to order at breakfast time, including a selection of tasty pastries and cereals. Would rate our stay 10/10 - highly recommend and looking forward to visiting again in the future! We had a voucher bought as a gift for us, so we had a date night for the first time in two years!! It was really lovely! ! We only dined because we are local, but what a meal!! Beautifully presented, beautifully cooked, beautifully delicious and service was impeccable and attentive in a relaxed atmosphere. If you want a touch of luxury, this place will do it for you!! Treated to a birthday lunch today. Food was delicious and staff friendly. Only small issue was that the young waitress came and removed my main meal plate the minute I had finished eating and my friend was still eating. Also at the end of desserts she said do you want your bill immediately we finished.
