I offer a quality dog walking service throughout North Lancashire and South Cumbria. I also home board dogs, providing a home-from-home experience and an alternative to kennels.
I only walk small groups of dogs in order to make the walk safer and more enjoyable for each dog, and be able to provide a higher level of care.

Gill provides a really good service. The home visit beforehand to get to know both you and the dog, flexibility and adaptability to meet your needs and a thorough written report so that you know exactly how your dog has been when in her care. Highly recommended.

Gill is brilliant with our dog, Maggie and they have a great relationship.
Maggie is a lovely dog but can be nervous when meeting new people.
We were worried about the first few walks but Gill was great (sent me lots of messages and pictures to reassure me!) Maggie loves it when Gill comes to walk her. I would highly recommend!

What do you love most about your job?
I love working with animals and being out and about walking in different places each day, sometimes covering up to 15 miles in a day. I am very lucky to live in such a beautiful area, with easy access to a variety of beaches, lakes and mountains where my dogs and I can walk, especially so when the sun is shining!
Every day is different and brings its own unique challenges and there is never a dull moment when dogs are involved, as I am sure you can imagine.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Having spent many years in education, I now own and run The Happy Pet Company, and it allows me to spend each and every day working with the animals that I love. I really couldnt think of anything else that I would rather be doing instead.
Why should our clients choose you?
I dont load dogs into a van, and take them to the local park to tread the same unimaginative route, day after day.
I dont walk dogs in packs or large groups, so that there is no individual care, attention to detail, or ability to really provide safety for all concerned.
I dont rent a field, and just let dogs run around it in a frenzy, leading to behavioural issues, aggression, and a thoroughly unpleasant experience for shy, nervous dogs.
I offer quality, premium services for the discerning owner who wants the very best for their dogs.
Dog Walking and Dog Home Boarding
Quality dog walking, in small groups. Varied and stimulating routes which make the most of the beautiful surrounding countryside. Basic training and games incorporated into the walks.
Dog Home Boarding - this service is only offered to dogs that are walked regularly by The Happy Pet Company. Dogs are treated as part of the family and given a real home from home experience.
