What inspired you to start your own business?
My background is in agriculture and environmental science, and I have degree in agricultural and environmental science from Edinburgh university and a master’s degree in ‘Nature and society’ from Oxford University. I have worked for 15 years as an environmental consultant on some of the largest renewable energy projects in the world (dams, wind farms etc). This has been great for travel, its intellectually stimulating and the work has led to many positive impacts. However environmental consultants spend a large amount of time report writing and a disappointingly small amount of time climbing trees and jumping in rivers. I founded Mow My Meadow to spend less time at a computer and more time having a direct positive impact on our local flora and fauna, and people’s enjoyment of their gardens.

We cut your grass on a regular basis through the year to make all the grassy areas of your garden beautiful, fun, and wildlife-friendly.

Hedge trimming
We can help cut your hedges and shrubs back into shape. We have the skills and expertise to maintain the hedges and borders of your garden. We do hedge maintenance and shrub cutting as part of a wider garden maintenance service. We can also provide help as and when you need it to keep your garden looking its best.
Grass cutting
We will cut your grass!
Planting
We help you with plant selection and planting, bedding plants, shrub pruning, shrub removal and mulching. Shrubs and herbaceous beds bring colour and wildlife to your garden. We plant, trim, prune, and hoe to keep everything clean, tidy and attractive. We can create striking planted areas that will make your garden a hub for birds bees and butterflies.
