My partner and I visited The Coven for the very first time last Saturday and this is our first experience at a vegetarian/vegan restaurant since becoming vegetarians a few months ago. We were both pleasantly surprised of the range on the menu and was spoilt for choice! When we decided on what to have we were not let down, our food was delicious and could tell it was home made which was another bonus. We will be definitely coming back to this hidden gem. First time for me in their new location, and first thought I like it. I only went for a drink and on a hot sunny day found their iced coffees and a darkened, side room with chill out chairs. Beautiful food made by wonderful people. So welcoming. Great choice on the menu. I'm not vegetarian but would suggest you try the falafel burger with bbq jack fruit. One of my favourite dishes so far.

This restaurant was highly recommended to me by non-veggie/vegan friends so I guessed I was on to a winner before I even visited. The plant-based food is delicious and there's a range of choices to suit everyone. The mushroom pasta dish was really flavourful and the home-made cake selection for dessert was impossible to decide between. The service was friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Quality veggie food. I always seem to go for the fully loaded omlette and the chinese fritters. Ask for fresh chillies in the omlette. Both good as i am sure the rest of the food is too. I love The Coven! It's a hidden gem in Wigan but well worth seeking out. Delicious homecooked plant-based food at very reasonable prices. They have a large varied and creative menu, friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere in their new modern premises. Not a vegan or vegetarian, but love the food here. Small dishes available, but I love the hearty potato hash, delicious and packed with flavour - cheese, spinach, mushrooms and onions. Decor very cool since the move to the Old Courts and the drink selection is as good as most bars. Our first time back to The Coven since its change of venue and they have also changed to a plant based menu. What has not changed is the genuine warmth and friendliness of the staff and the high quality of food in terms of presentation, taste, ingredients and quantity. Took my mum here today for brunch and really enjoyed it! Food is great, well priced for the quality of food and portion size. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Nice relaxed atmosphere.
