Q&As

Seeing the positive effect my horses and I, have on our clients. Working

I began working with my horses at the end of my teaching career. I was burnt out, beyond tired and in need of some help to get back on my feet and to decide what was next for me.
I found horses by accident. I had no experience with horses but once I came into contact with them, I felt a warmth, love and tenderness that I needed. I haven't looked back since.

The biggest inspiration though was discovering horses as experts in setting boundaries. I knew about them. As a teacher, I set boundaries all the time, or at least, I thought I did.
My lessons began when I began working with horses and really discovering how powerful boundaries actually are and the impact they have on our day to day lives.
I have come to believe that learning and consciously integrating boundaries into our lives is crucial for who we want to be, how we want to develop and be treated by others.

I work specifically around boundaries; either with my horses or independently. I complete a consultation with every client and if I feel I can help them, I will offer them the opportunity to work with us. Our work is very specific and aims to offer practical tools that clients can work with from the first session and develop, as our work together progresses.

Working via Teams or Zoom, boundaries work is best achieved either with or without the horses present.

I have developed a programme of online learning that means I can work with clients via Zoom or Teams.
When working with clients in person, space and social distancing are practiced as standard, and as one of the main principles of boundary setting.

Services

EFHD is an equine intervention service, where we, you and I, work in partnership with my three horses, facilitating your interactions and experience to gain a greater understanding of yourself, your boundaries and your relationships. There is no riding involved at any stage of your work with the horses.

The horses acts your listening ear and confidante, as you experience and receive non-judgemental feedback from your interactions.

As your facilitator, I will take you through a series of progressive activities that will help you to understand your experience with the horses and how it will help you where you need it most.

The aim is to resource you with appropriate tools and coping strategies that will empower you to set and establish healthy boundaries with yourself and in your relationships.

Working online via Zoom or Teams, I work with my clients helping them to set and establish healthy boundaries; personally and professionally.
