What inspired you to start your own business?
Karl has completed installations for The Tate Modern, The Victorian Albert Museum & The British Museum to name but a few. He has also over the years curated for various well known interior designers, art consutants & private collectors.
Why "The Blank Space"?
"...I saw a huge problem in the way art installations were being handled, I'm guessing I saw a lack of communication, accuracy & creativity in the process. I set out to create something that took art installations to a different level, one that set the standard; a way of doing things. It had to be consistent & discreet but flexible without compromising the requirements of our clients."
After spending several years in fabrication Karl created The Blank Space, an art installations business providing clients with the best possible & personable service available to date.
I saw a huge gap in the market for art installing. What was there was either outdated or so high brow that using a high end art installation business was out of the reach of a lot of residential customers. I also saw a lack of care & consideration for clients. I created The Blank Space to change that in order bring a high level of service to everyone & anyone that needed it.

Whether it's a single piece, a collection, a Mirror or a large scale piece, our art technical team will ensure the safe & correct installation of your artworks.
Guided by our clients wishes we can advise on where & how a picture, painting, mirror or collection is best installed to suit every palate, from a traditional flavour, to a more contemporary style. Using modern techniques or if preferred more traditional ones our expert Art Technicians will provide the care & expertise needed to ensure the best instalment options for our clients.
Most installations require a single technician to complete. At the Blank Space we are fully insured to handle most types of installation, however to fully prepare any installation, especially pieces that are elevated in value, it maybe necessary we attend a site visit in order to ascertain the fittings required & the number of technicians required to complete the installation.
