Thames Tubes Scaffolding

I was very pleased with scaffolding work done by Tom Collier and his team (Thames Tubes) in 2023, so I engaged John Harris, Thames Building Solutions - the associated company, to carry out relaying of paving on my patio and around my house. Their work was equally meticulous. The level of the paving slabs was constantly checked and the precision of work involving drainage pipes and fitting in small pieces of slabs where required was impressive. I was surprised by how tools were always left tidily and safely during breaks (though having seen Tom managing the scaffolding work like a military exercise, I shouldn't have been). The precision of the work of Tom (Collier) and his team was impressive, both during the erection and taking down of the scaffolding. They were always exceptionally well organised and efficient.

Access was difficult. Lack of space for manoeuvring prevented the large lorry being parked anywhere other than in a narrow, shared, driveway. However, it was left there for the least time possible and care was taken to allow space to walk to and from the roadway to minimise inconvenience to people making deliveries and neighbours who share access.

As well as all that, they were a lovely cheerful lot to have around.

The scaffolding was primarily designed for roofing work but Tom kindly added two top lifts at no extra charge to allow DIY painting of areas not accessible by ladder. It was so well designed, an 80-year-old using it felt more secure than when using a ladder!
