Sarah is a breath of fresh air, always positive even though my son may not always be cooperative. She always gives us time to talk and reflect after the session and my son has learned some amazing new strategies to help with his learning in and out of school. Thank you.

Gaynor tutored my daughter on the run up to her SATS , she was amazing and very quickly put Lottie at ease. Lottie's confidence grew massively and I would highly recommend Gaynor, she is a lovely lady and thank you so much for helping Lottie.x

Q&As

Helping children to achieve and seeing the joy on their faces when they have that 'lightbulb' moment when realising they can do it. I enjoy making as interactive and as fun as possible for the children, tailoring my lessons to suit a child's learning style, needs and interests.

My mum began the business a couple of years ago and I joined once I had my qualification. I am dyslexic myself and I want to help young children to see that just because the have a SpLD, doesn't mean they can't learn and achieve to their full potential. I'd like to teach them that there are many ways to learn and that not everybody learns the same way. They may see the world differently to others and I'd like to help them to discover how they can use this to their advantage when learning.

At Teach To Learn, we strive to make learning as fun and as interactive as possible. All lessons are tailored to suit each individual child's needs and learning styles. We also do our best to create activities that are based on the child's interests. We understand that all children learn at different rates and in different ways and that it is not about what is being taught but the way it is being taught: what works for one person, may not work for another. In the words of Ignacio Estrada: "If a child cannot learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn."

Services

We provide 1:1 tutoring support from Primary aged children who are diagnosed with SpLDs or who find school work difficult.
We create a Personalised Learning Plan tailored to the child's needs and learning style, and strive to in-cooperate their interests to engage them in their learning. This is used to create unique lessons for each individual child. For more information please see: www.teachtolearn.co.uk.

We can carry out an Initial Assessment with includes a range of sub-tests which include assessing: short-term and working memory, auditory discrimination and phonological awareness. The Initial Assessment also includes two Diagnostic assessments; one for reading and one for spelling, both of which will give a reading/spelling age. This is not a formal diagnosis, but it will give parents/teachers and idea of a child's strengths and weakness in several areas of learning.
