As a new business owner I went to my ever first networking event ran by Colony . Kirsty was very welcoming and made sure everyone was included. It was a great women’s only event which mixed fun with networking . I also attended her speed networking event last March, this changed the course of my business. What do you love most about your job?
I love helping people get the funding they need in order to expand their businesses - there is nothing better than a funder saying "yes" we like this deal.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have never been good at taking instruction...or so my dad would say. I also wanted to allocate my time to work when I saw fit and not fit into the daily 9-5. It has allowed me to help much more with the children growing up and support my wife who was ill with encephalitis many years ago. It is by far the best decision I have made.. I also wanted to do things my way and make a living from my own attributes rather than relying on others
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
Whilst I like to meet clients I often help clients remotely. The key is to discover their needs and match the funding solution to those needs. This can often be extracted via Zoom / Teams Call
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I am a double jabber. I take precautions in terms of where I go/ social distancing and will not socially interact with the client ( shake hands etc.) if this isn't acceptable.
Finding Funding
I find debt / equity funding for businesses from between £10k -£10m
P&L - Cash Flow Forecasts
I create integrated P&L / Cash Flow/ Balance Sheet Forecasts in order to support Funding requirements and the accompanying Business Plans
Selling Businesses
I help sell businesses in the range £1m - £20m either to trade buyers/ MBO'S or Private Equity
