About

Although I have a PGCE, I started out as an engineer working for such companies as Dyson, Ford and Austin Martin. I started as a production engineer but ended up training engineers and company employees in physics and mathematically based subjects. I have been a private tutor for mathematics and physics for over twelve years. I tutor from KS3 up to A Level standard in both mathematics and physics. I also teach IB level mathematics.

I have empathy for those who find technical subjects difficult and I teach these subjects with compassion and understanding. Not everyone wants to be a rocket scientist. I sometimes use my experience from industry to try and make the subjects relevant and, hopefully, inspire wonder.

I have a first class honours degree in Aerospace engineering with astronautics. I also have a MSc in Aerospace Engineering where my dissertation was on gravitational interactions. I am currently doing a PhD.

I enjoy teaching and have had many successful results. Often I will have my pupils over many years as they progress through secondary school and onto further education. It is wonderful to be able to contribute to the growth of the pupils I teach.
