iposuction is used in patients in good health to remove localised deposits of fat from areas that do not respond to diet and exercise. Liposuction can be used to treat many areas of the body such as the hips, abdomen, knees, the trochanter region, the arms. After the operation, the patient must wear an elastic dressing band for as long as prescribed by the surgeon; the band will reduce the post-operative swelling as much as possible: swelling and bruising will disappear within a few weeks; although an initial result is noticeable even after a few weeks, to see the final result of liposuction it is necessary to wait 3 months from the day of the surgery. The stitches will be removed after a week and the patient can return to normal activities after a few days, always depending on the extent of the surgery. The pain of the first days after surgery will be easily controlled with common anti-inflammatory drugs. In order to optimise the results of liposuction surgery, it is strongly recommended to book a series of lymphatic drainage massages for a few days and resume as soon as possible the sports activity.

Brazilian buttock lift or BBL is one of most the demanded plastic surgery procedures in the world. The BBL is a refined procedure that combines liposuction with the transfer of the patient’s own fat from other parts of the body into the buttocks. Because the added fat tissue is not foreign, there is no chance of rejection, but the fat cells, transferred from an area to another of the same body, will have about 70% chances of survival. In other words, some of the fat injected will be reabsorbed naturally by your body, so that you will be able to appreciate the final result of your buttock enlargement only after a few weeks after these processes have finished and the swelling has been reabsorbed.

A flabby abdomen is often a consequence of significant weight loss and is common in women who have had several pregnancies. The abdominoplasty allows obtaining a slimmer abdomen and a narrow waistline. Surgery is performed in the operating room, under general anaesthesia; the skin incision is made in the upper pubic region, from one side to the other, and around the navel. The skin located below the navel is removed, while the skin of the upper abdomen is stretched downwards. In the weeks following the surgery, the patient will have to wear an elastic support bodysuit. The stitches will be removed after 2/3 weeks. The scars around the navel and in the upper pubic region will clear after a few months and become less visible. When skin laxity is mainly located over the pubis region, in the lower abdomen, it is possible to carry out a less complex procedure, called mini-abdominoplasty (mini tummy tuck), which consists of the removal of a portion of skin from the lower region of the abdomen.

The latest-generation breast implants are made of highly cohesive silicone gel with a textured or smooth outer coating, and the shape can be either round or in the shape of a drop (anatomical implant). There are also implants with cohesive gel but coated in a material called polyurethane, available both with a round and anatomical shape. During your appointment, the surgeon will evaluate the shape and size of the breast, the consistency and elasticity of the skin, the mammary gland, and the characteristics of the chest, and will be able to suggest the shape and size of the implant that best fits your physical characteristics, the type of incision and the most suitable procedure.

The facelift is always performed in the operating room, under general or local anaesthesia with sedation. The incisions are made in not visible areas and along with wrinkles and natural folds of the face: an incision is usually made anteriorly and behind the ears and is extended to the area of the scalp that is located behind the ears (mastoid region). If it is needed to also treat the anterior and median area of the neck, a small incision is made under the chin. The skin is then detached from the underlying muscular tissues, which are then pulled. Finally, the extra skin is removed and the wounds are closed with aesthetic sutures. At the end of the procedure, if necessary, drainage tubes will be positioned to remove small bleeds, and a moderately compressive bandage will be used to limit swelling: draining and bandaging will be removed the day after surgery. The patient will have to wear a special dressing for a week after surgery. The stitches will be removed after 5-7 days. Post-operative pain is usually moderate and however, easily controlled with painkillers. Patients can return to normal life after approximately 2 weeks, refraining from sport activities for 5/6 weeks.
