Is £2.50 a bit much for a 1/2 pint of Kingfisher? Good food cooked to a high standard, is £8 a bit much for a small piece of haddock served with some boiled rice and boiled potatoes? The best word I can use to describe Swadish is outstanding. I visited with my friend for lunch today and we both rated it as the best Indian food we had ever had. The flavours were amazing and the food was light and delicious. We shared starters of garlic mushrooms and haddock from the Christmas lunch menu and chose the lamb korma for our main course which was melt in the mouth tender. One of the best Indian restaurants I've eaten in. The lamb curry is served falling off the bone in a delicious rogan josh sauce, but the butter chicken stole the show. Loved everything about Swadish from start to finish! We took quite a while deciding what to try on our first meal here, as the menu is so interesting and exciting. While we perused, the attentive waiting staff started our meal by bringing us a delightful aperitif to cleanse the palette. So good to see an exciting variety of vegan options. The pickle tray and poppadoms arrived next and we awaited the starter of chicken pakora which was delightfully presented and tasted lovely. Ten of us went for a meal yesterday, this restaurant offers an unusual array of dishes but they are all fantastic. If your looking for something different and classy this is the place to go. I don’t know any other Indian who has a desert menu like this, offering homemade dishes to make your mouth water. The chef came out to speak to us after the meal which was also a nice touch.
