I ordered food for collection and was greeted by the worst customer service I have ever received. I ordered sushi and hot food, when I came to collect at my collection time the food was thrown in front of me.
I questioned where the sushi was as I only had one bag and when I discovered it was with the hot food the sushi was warm. I spoke to the member of staff who originally threw the bag down in front of me and he said what do you want to me to do about it, in an abrupt manner. I said the sushi is warm and would like it remade. He walked off swearing and the poor girl behind the bar apologised. The food came back out with a different member of staff and it was still the same. I went back in and spoke to the girl behind the bar who agreed that she thought it was the same.
I have never been spoken to or treated so rudely by a member of staff. We called to complain as I was far too flustered to say anything at the time, more out of shock and did not receive a call as promised. If I hadn’t had been so shocked I would have asked for a full refund and took my business elsewhere.
My advice to anyone is to AVOID at all costs.

Completely disgusted with this restaurant.
My partner ordered a takeaway from them and went to collect. We ordered 2 hot dishes and a sushi selection.
Upon arrival she was greeted by a man with a ponytail who just tossed the food down on the table in front of her. The food was packed all together, with the hot dishes on top of the sushi in the same bag.
When my partner asked if the sushi should be packed like this, a female member of staff advised that it shouldn't be, to which the man replied abrutly ' what do you expect me to do about this'. He then proceeded to be dismissive to her, swearing under his breath in response to my girlfriends questions. He then took the food back into the kitchen, to be replaced. After a few minutes someone else brought the sushi back out to say it had been changed. When my partner questioned this, the female staff member agreed it looked exactly the same and was still warm... and looked very embarrassed by the whole situation.
My partner was so shocked by the service that she left the restaurant without saying anything further, as she was flustered and upset. Upon relaying the information to me, I called the restaurant up to make a complaint. I spoke to a Richard who advised he was the manager and would look into this and call us back. 2 hours later I called for an update, but was told he was too busy to speak.
My partner ended up in tears by the way she was spoken to. I would advise that this restaurant remove the man with the ponytail from their staff, as no person should ever be spoken to and treated the way my partner has been this evening.
All we wanted to do, was order and collect a simple takeaway. To be greeted and treated in this manner, without a single apology after 2 phones calls is abysmal.
They do not deserve your custom, or your money. Please choose another restaurant who wants and appreciates your business. There are many amazing places out there that will! This is not one.

The food here is incredible and the staff cant do enough to help. There was a mix up with our table booking so they originally offered us 20% off takeaway but then found us a table in their karaoke room and gave us free prosecco instead. Absolutely love this restaurant. Essex has lacked an authentic independent Japanese restaurant, for the longest time. So pleased it has come to Chelmsford. The food is fresh, well prepared & presented, not to mention delicious! The staff are polite efficient & helpful. The oyster tempura was a particular surprise. The bottomless menu is beyond extensive. You have an amazing selection & can not possibly imagine how good it is. It’s amazing. Local businesses need support- especially ones this good!
