I have completed the level one evening Dj course which I have enjoyed immensely.
The vibe around the studio is great.
I have returned for the level two as I have learnt so much and am looking to learn more.
My tutor John is a top bloke and there is nothing he does not know about his profession.
I have been given the opportunity to play at the world famous ministry of sound which up to a few weeks ago I could only have dreamt about.

i completed my Level 2 DJ Course in November 2014. had loads of fun learnt alot. I finished the DJ complete and the intro to Ableton course in September 2014. And I'm about to play at Ministry for the third time. I can't recommend John and Simone, the two tutors on each of those course, enough! What those guys don't know about DJing or music production is not worth knowing. Studying the Logic Pro 2 Course at Subbass was one of the best decision I have made for my career as a producer. Having the newest, most updated and user friendly equipment allows them to cater of producers of all levels. They've got some great drum machines and plenty of additional plugins and software. The class sizes are small and intimate, almost as though it were 1 to 1, meaning you can get the most out of the tutor and each class. The classes always had a great, friendly atmosphere where likeminded music lovers shared their music and knowledge. One of the highlights for me was Fabio, you couldn't find another tutor with as much enthusiasm, knowledge and industry experience as him. He was incredibly supportive and easy to work with and he always promoted the best learning experience for each individual and every class.
I would strongly recommend the logic production course to anyone from beginners to established producers who want to take their music to the next level.

The DJ Complete course is exactly what anybody who wants to DJ needs to do, even as a total beginner! John is the most fun teacher but also the most knowledgeable, and teaches literally everything you need to know to be a successful DJ, even down to the little tips, tricks and parts you would never learn on your own! I would recommend SubBass to anybody, I loved every minute of it - a shame it went so quickly! I've recently finished the weekend level 2 DJ course and have to say the course content, structure and advice given to me was excellent. The time i had one to one with John was made easier because Subbass keep the group sizes down, this mean you get great value and tuition. My advice to anyone considering a course here would be to get on and do it, dont miss out as the course fill up fast

Signed up for the One Month Level 1 & 2 DJ Course with course instructor John Taylor. This was most certainly money well spent, John is an excellent teacher and extremely knowledgeable. The course was enjoyable and worth every penny. I came away with a much better understanding of DJ'ing, including mixpoints, beatmatching, impact mixing and much more. It has also given me more confidence in my ability. For anyone either suck in the bedroom DJ category or even those that want to sharpen their skills, I would most certainly recommend SubBass! I had a one to one DJ tutorial with Alex who was very attentive and corrected me on any bad habits I had developed. I learnt new mixing techniques that were suitable for my style of music and I had a whole other perspective on DJing once the lesson was over. I also learnt how to master a mix through ableton, definitely money well spent! I took the Ableton - level 1 production course, as well as the music business one. The teachers were absolutely amazing, competent and very easy to work with and talk to. The same goes for all the other staff members I met during my time there. Both courses were exactly the things I hoped for and more! The tempo made for a good atmosphere in which it was easy to pick stuff up and practice said things immediately afterwards. I found there was also a desire of not only teaching skills, but also providing the students with tips on how to use them and developing an overall good attitude (and workflow) towards the subject you were interested in. All in all it was a truly pleasuring experience, absolutely nothing in terms of negative experiences and looking forward to coming back. More...

Having recently taken the Logic Pro Weekend Level 1 course with Alex as my tutor I would like to say how much I thoroughly enjoyed it. Alex was really informative with not just facts but opinions and experience, which make the teaching so much richer. I believe I learnt things from Alex that would have taken many, many, many hours of playing around and reading to have even found out about let alone understood. Given some time to use my knew found knowledge and discover what my music making style is I would definitely return for level 2 and beyond if I have the opportunity.

I've DJ'd in the past but had taken a bit of a break over the past few years. The DJ Level 2 course was perfect for me as while I had a reasonable amount of technical knowledge, taking the course not only refreshed all of that but also gave me lots more to improve on and many new techniques to learn. Also finding out more about the business/social side of the game really helped broaden my horizons. I had an amazing 6 months at SubBass learning Logic and music production with Alex and Karim, who both know their MIDI fiddling and audio manipulation in and out.

Alex's fun, radiant and friendly teaching style has inspired me to pursue other genres of music and create electronic dance tunes in the future. Karim's neverending knowledge of all things audio engineering has opened by mind up to a whole new world of nerdiness that I previously thought was unachievable.

Exactly 4 days after finishing the Logic Pro Module 1 course with Alex, a song that I wrote, produced, mixed and mastered was played on Huw Stephens' BBC Introducing Show on BBC Radio 1. I very much doubt this would have happened if I had not have studied at SubBass, so I am extremely grateful to them, and especially Alex, for the tricks he taught me.

I would certainly recommend SubBass to anyone wishing to pursue a career in music production as the teachers are excellent, due to the vibrant and positive environment and because everyone is welcome.

I now hope my further utilise my production skills throughout my life and may even return to SubBass in the future to take one of the many other courses they run. More...

I've just finished the 12 week dj course, and it excelled in all areas. Great teaching, lovely people running it, and a really indepth, fun, and effective prospectus. Just finished my Ableton level 1 and 2 Music production course at SubBass and I cannot recommend going here enough! The course structure, level of teaching and work enviroment were second to none! ! You are encouraged to explore your own sound, and are made to feel that there are no stupid questions, Michael my lecturer showed patience and humour and a huge technical knowledge which he managed to get across in easy, digestable chunks that added up and up over the 6 months to a point where I'm now able to sculp my own sounds and ideas quickly and efficently and am super excited to continue creating my own tracks! I attended SUBBASS winter 2016 primarily for a head start following purchasing an AKAI MPC Touch Music Production Interface and Software. I had never used any predecessor(s) to the product or even anything related with reference to Music Production to give me any learning advances. In simple terms - unless you have the time, ease etc. to be able to follow the very technical worded small print 300+ page user manual which does not help you in return, then SUBBASS and its associated tutors will be your ideal option in my opinion. Not to mention the user manual only tells you what it states - it does not give you personal one to one like SUBBASS and its associated tutors. In this courses case Alex Grover a very competent tutor was delivering. Within the Music Production room(s) - you are on identical equipment, its not a white board course, you use what you are learning which is key potentially unlike other organisations etc. who may only have one or a small portion (which adversely affects your learning ability as you have to share equipment). Secondarily I attended a level 2 DJ course purely as a confidence builder and networking opportunity having come back to DJ'ing from vinyl to a now digital. In this courses case it was delivery by a very competent John Taylor. Within the DJ section rather than having everything 'the latest model' it was noted that there is a range of models i.e. mixers and CDJ's (900's, 2000's etc. not just NX2). It is all very well being used to one model - but, I know from my earlier vinyl days playing live you only become better using a range of equipment i.e. if you learn to drive on snow as well as tarmac you will be more prepared. I personally thrived from hearing from John Taylor my work already to date was spot on :) In terms of management pre-attendance, Michael Frost I have been liaising with mostly. Michael is very fluent in what he does and what SUBBASS offers so you can be sure what you are asking for you are/will be getting. One final point if the above does not sell it to you when it should - the owner of SUBBASS is a long term Sasha and John Digweed fan, follower etc. so, this should say it all!!! :) More...

I've just completed the Akai MPC Touch 2 day class. From the moment I got in touch enquiring about this course I spoke to Micheal who was extremely helpful and then Alex who took the class was Great! He Explained clearly and showed us around the MPC touch. Before this weekend I'd never even touched any kind of AKAI kit.
