I focus on carpet and upholstery cleaning. I have a top of the range, powerful, wet extraction machine which injects and extracts a hot cleaning solution into the fibres leaving the fabric or carpet clean with a short drying time. What do you love most about your job?
I enjoy the freedom to be my own boss, choose my own work, choose my schedule. This all makes every day different, if a little chaotic.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I had a hard floor cleaning business when I was young. I then went into IT and worked as a computer programmer for 20 years. At age 50 I was made redundant after the IT dept was outsourced abroad and I decided to get back into cleaning. Only this time I decided to specialise in carpets. It makes a nice change to not be in an office any more.
Why should our clients choose you?
Why should Bark clients choose me - hmm another tricky question. You can't say you're the best out there because you don't know where the next Usain Bolt is coming from - but I am fussy, I am particular, and I've spent my redundancy money on the best equipment. I paid for a detailed instruction course from the NCCA and I am a member of that association. And at my age I know what a clean house looks like.
