I have a great record of success with a wide range of children from different social and cultural groups. I work with both primary and secondary school children and my sessions exactly mirror the requirements of the national curriculum.

Maths is at the core of almost everything we do. From making online purchases to working out the probability of one's favourite team winning the football league, a firm grasp of Mathematics is the basis for any level of future education.

English is equally important. People who read regularly, develop a clearer understanding of important issues and become better equipped to deal with the world around them. I have devised a well-tested schedule of work, which operates across the KS2 to KS5 curriculum in English and Maths.

Maths
The programme isolates modules such as Division, Multiplication, Fractions, Probability, Ratio, Graphs, Percentages, Area, Units of Measurement and so on. I have devised techniques for making information 'Stick' and I ensure that each module is fully understood before moving onto the next.

English
My programme is varied and uses literature and other media such as TV and Film. I read with students taking turns, page by page and then later discussing aspects of the books verbally and in the form of essays and questionnaires. We develop from Oxford learning tree books in year 1 to classics such as 'Animal Farm' by George Orwell, and 'The Pearl' by John Steinbeck. I am tactful with my corrections and issue weekly homework assignments, which I appraise in my own time. My English students quickly become more articulate and develop the ability to understand more complex texts.

This is my eleventh year as a personal homeschooling tutor and I have a 100% success rate with all of my students attaining, or exceeding the targeted level at KS2 SAT and GCSE stage. A great SAT score in year 6 in Primary School is vital. In my experience, this single score sets the tempo for all future learning. (KS3) (GCSE) (A-Level) (Degree and onwards). If you take the time now to ensure that your child has an exceptional work ethic at this stage, you will help them immeasurably. The Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) metric is by far the most significant indicator of the ability of a child, and every effort must be made to ensure that this figure is as high as it can possibly be prior to entry to Secondary school.

I use an excellent online classroom zoom type communications package. It is free to the student to use, completely interactive and has a webcam, file share, and file edit capability. It really is as good as meeting in person. There is no need for the student to download any special software. It is completely web-based. All the student needs is a device and an internet connection.
