Paul did our wedding in May in Swanage and he was fantastic. As soon as the music started the wedding party were up and dancing and didn’t stop for 4 hours. I had the Party Package Absolutely fantastic from the first song to the last. I hired Paul for my son's 21st birthday party and we got far more than we expected! Great sound and lighting set up. Paul was an absolutely brilliant addition to my recent 30th birthday celebrations. He played throughout our evening meal, and then filled the dance floor with songs that had everyone up and singing.
He was extremely professional and courteous, and I was able to send him a song list in advance which was great.

I hired Paul for my husbands surprise birthday party and to say he was brilliant would be an understatement! Paul was extremely friendly and was more than happy to accommodate everyone's requests!
His playlist was brilliant considering I gave him very little information as to what we would like. Paul judged the crowd very well and played music which was very well received, the dance floor was busy all evening! Our guest were also very complimentary of Paul and I would not be surprised if some of them used him for upcoming events!

I highly recommend Sound City Mobile Disco. Paul was such a fab dj, he had the widest selection of songs to keep everyone up on the dance floor.
As soon as a song was requested, it was played straight away. And at such a reasonable price as well. We will definitely use Sound City Mobile Disco again.

What’s the secret to keeping a party dancing all night long?
Looking at the age profile of the audience is very important as younger people tend to like more chart/recent music whereas older age groups may prefer music from the 80's, 90's and 00's! To keep everyone happy I try to play a mixture of music from different era's and respond to what goes down well and what doesn't
How would you describe your ‘style’?
I like to focus on the music I'm playing so I don't talk a great deal. I will play music from any genre, whether it be rock n' roll, hip hop, pop, Motown, or Rn'B.
What do you love most about your job?
I love playing music! I did my first gig when I was 17 years old. It was not my most successful night ever, however I started to learn more about having a wide choice of music and the importance of having reliable equipment. I love music of all types and in the space of a week I may do 3 events, for example, a 21st birthday, a Wedding and a Golden Wedding, where I don't play the same song twice and it gives me the opportunity to dig out the odd song I have not played for a year or so.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I ran my disco as a hobby for many years. It was only when I listened to the advice of my friends, that I decided to 'bite the bullet' and see if I could convert my hobby into a business. So far it has been an interesting experience, I have invested in a new PA and lighting rig and as long as I keep getting good feedback I know I'm going along the right track!

My determination to keep my audience up and dancing all night long, my willingness to play anything my audience want to hear, and my experience of playing music from across so many different era's.
