About

I've recently switched careers to follow a life-long passion of mine - horticulture. In the autumn of 2021, I said goodbye to sitting behind a screen and decided to pursue gardening as my career. I am reliable, hard-working, honest and genuinely passionate about what I do.

Sophie did a great job at our offices. Our car park was a weedy and mossy mess having been neglected during lockdown. Sophie cleared everything and made it look like new again.

She even cleared the front wall which we never asked he to do - but she said she thought it would make the front of our office look better. She was right!

Great job. Highly recommended. Will definitely use again.

Highly recommended!! Sophie was amazing!! My garden looks wonderful and she even moved some of the gravel around to cover the gaps as I was having pictures done to market my property! Genius! Thankyou so so much! Will 100% be using going forward! Can’t recommend highly enough! More...

Sophie has done a fantastic job making my tired and boring space into an interesting and delightful garden.
She has creatively totally transformed my borders. She arrived on time, worked hard, was enthusiastic and did an excellent job.
I have already recommended her to a few of my friends.
I will definitely use her again in the future.

Q&As

I love being outside and absorbed in nature. It's really the best job in the world, come rain or shine! I love sharing my passion for plants and green spaces with my clients and creating a space that they can enjoy.

I worked in digital marketing for 10 years before I decided that life behind a screen just wasn't for me! At the age of 31, I decided to bite the bullet and make a career change to something I loved - horticulture. I am currently studying for a formal qualification at Reaseheath College for my RHS Level 2 Certificate in Practical and Theoretical Horticulture.

I'm reliable, hard-working, flexible and love turning gardens into spaces that other people can enjoy as much as I do.

I sanitise my hands before and after each client appointment. Being largely outside, the risks are low. But I am happy to wear a mask if that would make my clients more comfortable. If I use any of your tools or facilities (e.g. garden waste bins), I will also sanitise any points of contact.

Services

Everyone's favourite job! Maintaining borders can be hard work when the weeds are against you. I can perform regular weeding and weed suppression to help keep them under control.

Some clients find that they don't need a weekly service, so I also offer a monthly garden service. This usually includes jobs like weeding, dead-heading, general tidy up, edging, lawn maintenance, hedge trimming etc.

Some clients like to make a list of jobs for me to do, others just want me to take care of what needs doing that month. It's totally up to you!

If you want regular help in your garden, then my weekly or fortnightly service could be for you.

Depending on the season and where you want me to focus on any given week, this could include wedding, border maintenance, dead-heading, pruning, digging, spreading compost, lawn maintenance, leaf clean up etc.

We all love deciduous trees, but in autumn the job of cleaning up the leaves can be a bit of a chore!

I prefer to minimise the use of noisy and polluting power tools, performing the majority of the job with hand rakes, and if needed, finishing up at the end with power tools.

When it comes to disposing of the leaves, I'm flexible. Maybe you have your own mulching pile (or want to start one!), or maybe you need me to dispose of the garden waste for you. Get in touch and we can discuss your particular requirements.

Keeping your borders in tip-top condition year-round can be quite the task! I can help with a wide variety of tasks including weeding, pruning, dead-heading, cutting back, spreading mulch and compost, digging over beds.

Being a trained horticulturalist, I can also advise on some good plants for your particular spot and tastes. I can even source them for you if required!

If you're planning a trip away, enjoy the peace of mind that your garden plants aren't going thirsty!

Pots especially can be vulnerable to drying out beyond the point of no return! At a pre-arranged frequency, you can rely on me to come and water your pots, borders and lawn (as required).

Need this to extend to houseplants too? Get in touch to discuss.

Maybe things have got a little out of hand, maybe you've just moved into a new house. Or you want to give your beds a little makeover.

Whatever it is, sometimes we just need an extra pair of strong, reliable hands for a big job in the garden.

I can take the hard work out of digging over a bed, or digging a new bed.

Depending on your soil, you may also want this service to include adding compost or manure to improve the soil quality.

I have quiet, electric tools. Will cut trim hedges up to 2m tall. I always check for nesting birds before I start my work.

I can mow your lawn to keep it looking its best, and provide clean edges, which always makes a huge difference!
