I began working with Sam within the first couple of weeks of my sobriety journey. I had reached out to a few therapists and tried AA but I didn't connect with any person/organisation as well as I did with Sam.

He is down to earth, supportive and extremely approachable. His kindness was unmatched and the safe space he offers to progress with sobriety is invaluable.

He taught me to view alcohol in a different light and to understand not only the reasons behind my drinking but also the science around it which was eye opening.

He allowed me to realise that I already possess the skills I needed to overcome alcohol and showed me that sobriety really is a gift.

I am kind to myself because Sam showed me how to be.

I had been feeling very lost and confused, lacking direction. A real heaviness, fatigue and brain fog. I knew I needed to speak with someone, my inner GPS had just gone to pot! At almost 18 months sober I was taken by surprise as my resilience was now on the line, then came the wobble. I knew I would need help in gaining some perspective, I could almost feel the spiralling in my body.

My sessions with Sam were very immersive, almost like a guided meditation, calming and reassuring. He is incredibly insightful, really tuning in, really listening. It’s important to me to feel connected with a deep sense of belonging. This has been an integral part of my recovery as I attempt to navigate the people in my life, my tribe. I felt safe to speak my truth, I came to Sam raw, fragile and weepy but he gently lifted my spirits. My hearts desire was to have some clarity, to clear the fog. The sessions felt like a real heart to heart, a re-centering, the lightness and clarity that came thereafter was such a breath of fresh air. The pressure had lifted, a lighter and brighter me was emerging. It is now an upwards spiral! I have a sense of faith in who I am becoming, who I really am, my true essence, but also a faith and understanding about the journey ahead.

Addiction Therapy

Sam is genuinely a top guy and a top coach who has helped me get to the root cause of my drinking. There is no preaching here…just facts, data, good discussion and support. He has helped me reset my relationship with alcohol, and through our sessions I was able to take a long break from it for the first time. My aim was to reduce my drinking massively and Sam has helped me get there. I’m now heading towards going alcohol free which is something I never thought I’d even think of let alone achieve. Reaching out to Sam is one of the best decisions I’ve made. More...

By way of background I have been drinking more than was good for me for most of my life. I had previously done 90 days alcohol free in 2020 having done the Alcohol experiment from This Naked Mind and Annie Grace. I found this very helpful but it didn’t take me as far as I wanted to go. I did the Live alcohol experiment in January 2021 which was a definite upgrade on the free AE. On reflection I think that was largely a function of the live daily sessions with the TNM coaches who were fantastic. The dedicated Facebook group was also an additional support.

AS 2021 progressed I felt the need to test out moderation one last time to prove to myself it didn’t work for me. Maybe I could just drink at weekends or on special occasions? Maybe I could have one or two drinks and stop?

In conclusion there was too much cognitive dissonance for me. It is much easier for me to be AF than to try and moderate, too hard, too much energy wasted and just not worth it.

I needed to refocus my attention on the things that mattered to me. I was too fixated on alcohol as the be all and end all of my life at the expense of my creativity and Spirituality. And at that point a “random” message from one of the Live AE coaches put me in touch with Sam and shortly afterwards we started working together.

What started out as an exploration of my drinking habits quickly became something much bigger. Sam’s own journey through life allowed me to explore some other areas I wanted to work on.

1. My diet…I moved to Intermittent fasting
2. My health in general
3. My addiction to video games
4. The importance of movement
5. A reconnection to the work of Sydney Banks and the 3 principles

In other words it was so much more than just the alcohol. Sam’s honesty about himself, his energy and passion for life shine through. When he tells you he is committed to his work and supporting you, trust me he is. He shows up every time. Anything you wish to bring to the table is ok. He practices with a high degree of compassion and love. He is always there for the group via email, Zoom or FB chat.

Since becoming AF about 4 months ago alcohol has become irrelevant in my life. I have regained my power over it. A key part of that process has been setting a clear intention about what I want. I used to drink because I could, nobody was going to tell me what I should or shouldn’t drink. Now, I choose NOT to drink because I can, because I want to.

Yes there is a cost involved. For me the money I spent was great value for money and worth every penny. If you are sitting on the fence wondering is this right for me, listen to your intuition, listen to your body, your gut instinct. If you feel a connection to Sam go for it, you are worth it and Sam will help you to realise that.

So when I first approached Sam I was at a point in my life when something had to change with my drinking (I was a binge drinker and when I drank alcohol all care for my responsibilities went completely out the window) but I didn’t have the answers as to how or why things needed to change, that’s where Sam came in.
He helped me understand alcohol and what it did to not only my body but my brain and how it affected my thinking, sounds so simple but without Sam’s help I would never have known how to go about making the changes I have made. He really has changed my life for the better aswell as the relationships with my partner, daughter and parents.
The great thing about Sam’s coaching and advice is that nothing is ever forced and he always works with you to help make the process seem comfortable and what works best for you.

Anyone unsure about taking this step all I can say is investing in yourself is key to a happier healthier life and Sam at Sober Rebellion can help you in the right direction.

I has one to one coaching with Sam a few months ago . He coaches with passion and enthusiasm . His ideas on moving away from alcohol are phenomenal and coaches you to see a bigger world .
Friendly. Attentive and knowledgeable, I would recommend Sam for one to one coaching . I would have continued for another six months but it was a little pricey for me. ( I should have asked for pensioner rates )
At the end of the day Sam helped me to stop drinking after 42 years . I am now almost 19 months A F and successfully did my first sober cruise on Queen Elizabeth.
Sam’s coaching makes you question your reasons for drinking and with prompting you actually answer your own reasons .

My drinking career spanned 20 years and my roles included Screaming Demon Banshee, Miss Pissed Antagonist and Blackout with your Twat Out.
I was a classic binge drinker. I could go days without it but hit it hard when I could. As my drinking quantities increased over time I started to put myself into very dangerous situations. I knew it had to stop but didn’t know how.
I was sick of feeling like shit and behaving in ways that didn’t align with my values. I didn’t like the person I became when I was drunk, and it was impacting my relationships and mental health.

After trying to bin the booze for good for the last 5 years and never being able to make it past the 3 month sober mark, I decided to take the plunge and get me a sober coach. Best. Decision. Ever.
Sam is brilliant at what he does. He is super supportive and the sessions were life changing for me. With his support I went from ‘I can’t drink again, boohoo’ to ‘I never have to drink that shit again, woohoo!’ All my beliefs on alcohol such as ‘it relaxes me’ and ‘it helps me socialise’ were holding me back from being able to quit alcohol, even though consciously I knew it was the best thing for me. Sam supported me to deconstruct, analyse and reflect on these beliefs to see them for what they truly are - constructs of society, boozy work culture, media, advertising etc that were keeping me trapped in the hamster wheel of psychological addiction.

I learnt great ways to handle stress which was often the trigger for my drinking, how to handle cravings and much more and now feel like I have the tools I need to keep on with my amazing sober journey. Sam took a bespoke approach and catered every session to my needs, so it was always inspiring and interesting for me.

As well as the sessions, Sam encouraged me to check in with him regularly and on a couple of occasions when I had bad cravings or was nervous about going to an event that would have alcohol, he was very responsive and gave me the support I needed to succeed.

At the start, I was worried about spending the money on coaching only to fall back into the same cycle of risky blackouts and trying (and failing) to moderate. I can honestly say now - coaching from Sam is worth his weight in gold and would recommend him to anyone considering making this leap.

I am deeply grateful for my coaching experience with Sam and am proud to say I am 7 months sober and feeling incredibly liberated.

I had been chasing sobriety for 10 years when I met Sam through Instagram. I had tried 12 step programs, therapy, medication, psychiatrists. Things would work for a little while, but then I’d be back on the merry go round. Wine had long ago stopped being any fun or joy, it was just an escape from stress and feeling overwhelmed. I’ve had more success with Sober Rebellion’s approach than anything, because his approach is multifaceted. All of those other programs treat addiction from One Direction only. And Sam knows that addiction is an emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and physical malady, And that only by approaching all four of these facets will we get real and lasting results. We did visualization exercises, made a list of goals, read books, watched documentaries. He put together a program of exercise and yoga, along with diet and nutrition, and supplement guidance. With a healthy mind and a healthy body and a healthy outlook on life, addiction can fall by the wayside. I highly recommend working with sober rebellion! He has many ways of working with clients- personalized for each situation. NOT the dreaded (and limited) One size fits all approach. We are all unique, our stories are unique, our emotional needs and traumas are unique. Having someone who paid attention to all the aspects of a healthy life is what has made all the difference!
I’d be happy to talk to anyone who is considering working with Sam😉
