Steve and Sandra were our photographers for our wedding on 19th October at Heaton House Farm. From our first contact with them they were absolutely brilliant. They just lead us through the day like another wedding coordinator and they got some amazing photos that we can cherish forever! We also had a pre-wedding shoot with us at Mam Tor and Winnats Pass. This was well worth it as we got to know Steve and Sandra and get used to being in front of the camera which made the wedding day a lot less stressful and we also got some more incredible photos from it! Steve & Sandra were recommended to us by a lady I work with, I was apprehensive meeting any photographer as a close friend of mine is a wedding photographer and due to her now living in the US was unable to attend our wedding. I spoke with my friend and she said to me "You need to book this couple"When I met Sandra & Steve it was like chatting to old friends, they are so approachable and friendly. I was quite specific with what I wanted to capture and they understood completely. Nothing was too much trouble. They were in touch the whole time and were a pleasure to deal with. On the day they were so helpful, and what a team they make! A well oiled machine to say the least. They managed to capture every photo I requested despite rain on the day and a very rowdy set of guests. I was gutted when they were leaving as I wanted them to put their cameras down and join the party, that's how comfortable they make you feel. Just like old friends. We received the link to our pictures in around 3 1/2 weeks and WOW! I was really disappointed we never got any sunset shots or sparkler shots due to the rain and wasn't sure what to expect with our pictures. They are incredible, they look like they should be on a Cheshire life magazine. I have to keep pinching myself saying to my husband "Thats us" - They captured every moment from getting ready till the end of the night. I've shared the photo's with family and several of them have cried with joy reliving our day through the photo's. Steve and Sandra recently photographed our wedding and we received our photos in less than 4 weeks, and there were over 900! All edited beautifully; it was like reliving the day all over again. I cannot recommend SMH Photography enough for anyone looking for wedding photographers. Having two people there meant we could get photos from different perspectives. The communication from the minute we enquired with them 14 months before our wedding right up to receiving the photos has been excellent. It was raining for a lot of our day, but they knew how much we wanted photos outside so at every opportunity and break in the rain they would come and get us to let us know and we'd run outside! They think of everything (right down to heel protectors for walking over wet grass, such a small yet brilliant gesture!) They are professional, but so approachable. They know what timings you want to work to so they are super organised and make sure that happens, but in a relaxed way. At the end of the day it felt like they were guests at our wedding! We got married yesterday at Heaton House Farm and I have woken this morning just thinking about how amazing our photographs are going to look! Steve and Sandra are the loveliest people you could ever meet, and put us at ease from the moment the day started. They arrived on time and stayed until late. There was no awkwardness with photo poses etc which was great as me and my husband are very camera shy!... they literally put the most effort into making sure we got the best photos at the best times. From helping with our children, and making sure we had everything we needed, to running round in circles making shapes with sparklers. We had such a great laugh with Steve and Sandra that they actually felt like part of our invited wedding party as the day progressed and we were sad to see them leave at the end of the day. We recently got married and have to say that Steve and Sandra were absolutely fantastic. On the day, they were professional and approachable all whilst getting amazing shots. They knew the group photos we wanted so were able to easily get our guests in to position without them feeling like they were waiting around. This was all down to the preparation Steve and Sandra did with us before the event.They made sure they captured every moment without putting pressure on anyone. Even Sandra ensured my dress was right throughout the day! Steve and Sandra were amazing throughout the day and it was a pleasure to have them both as part of our day. They really focus on what you want out of your day and go the extra mile for example by learning everyone's name. They were not bossy or controlling and worked so hard all day. Fabulous to work alongside Steve and Sandra at Naomi and Ross’ wedding in Chester. Both Sandra and Steve were at the Brides Parents’ House during the Bridal preparations and you wouldn’t have known they were there, capturing images discreetly. Firstly I must start by saying just wow, wow, wow I cannot even begin to explain how amazing Sandra and Steve are. From the moment we met with them we just knew we both wanted them to share in our special day, they were not the first photographers we met with but as with your husband or wife it's true what they say when they say you've met the right one. We cannot think of anybody better to have captured our special day. Sandra and Steve were so professional and attentive and captured all those must have shots we wanted as well as working with us to create some additional must have shots. They even went the extra mile to ensure our day ran perfectly by handing out confetti to guests who had forgotten theirs so they could join in the 'confetti shot' as well as helping with the buttonholes for the bridal party. As someone who is not traditionally at ease in front of a camera Sandra and Steve made us both feel completely relaxed and at ease. My husband and I got married and Heaton House Farm on 22nd October 2017 and are so happy that we chose SMH Photography to capture our special day.
We first met Sandra at one of Heaton House Farm’s experience events. She was really friendly and we were impressed with the photos that we saw. After researching other photographers, we knew that SMH were the ones for us and booking them was really easy.
We met with Steve and Sandra at the venue a few weeks before the wedding to go over all of the details and discuss any particular family/group photos that we wanted taken. As they are one of Heaton House farms recommended suppliers, they knew the venue really well and suggested all the different places there that we could have some stunning shots taken.
The big day soon came round and they got to the venue bright and early, before we arrived, to get some photos of the ceremony and wedding breakfast rooms all decorated. During the entire day they were organised, professional and calm. We weren’t made to do any awkward poses. It was all very natural and made us feel very calm and relaxed.
Apart from when we were having the group shots and our photos taken, you wouldn’t have known they were there, they blended in to the wedding well.
Both were professional and charismatic. Steve going above and beyond to even get the children to smile during the bigger shots. Sandra even worked on her birthday and helped with my husband and best mans button holes and cravats. They worked with us to fit in some last minute group shots that we hadn’t planned for and worked well to get all the guests together for the confetti shots.
During the evening they were able to pull us aside for some quick evening shots with some beautiful sky backgrounds without interrupting the flow of the evening reception.
They braved the horrible cold weather and always had our best interests at heart.
We would absolutely recommend SMH Photography/Steve and Sandra to any couples planning their wedding.
A huge thank you once again. We can’t wait to see all of the finished photos – we know they’ll be amazing!

Sandra and Steve were an absolute joy to have as our wedding photographers. Until getting married ourselves, I had no idea what a vital part they'd play in the build up to and during the day. They may seem like small things but even being there with pins for the button holes, helping the men to look presentable and organising the girls was such a huge help and they helped remove any stress from the day. With Sandra carrying my dress and drinks and helping me in and out of places I should've provided her with a bridesmaid dress! They are so professional yet relaxed and friendly and their partnership was a pleasure to observe. We are of the age where we have been to many weddings in recent years and found photographers to often be a bit bossy and intense in the hope of getting 'the shot' and so we knew how important it was to hire someone who wouldn't distract from our day or our time with our friends and family. Steve and Sandra were the perfect combination of getting gorgeous photos that we are so proud and happy with that truly reflect the laughter and happiness we experienced on our special day, whilst allowing us to have spent our day with our loved ones with no force or pressure. Steve and Sandra photographed our wedding day in June this year, and what an incredible job they did. They captured every minute from bridal prep to the first dance! They were so friendly and made us feel so comfortable, which is what we wanted and they of course perfected the angles to take the most beautiful photos! We can only praise the service we received from SMH photography, run by Steve and Sandra. They were extremely professional yet personal throughout the entire process. Both Steve and Sandra are clearly highly skilled as photographers; our wedding pictures could not be more perfect (they especially managed to capture the stunning colors of the sunset and countryside, as well as delicately directing us to ensure that they obtained the best pictures of my wife and myself).Steve and Sandra blended in perfectly with our day; while never being too intrusive, they were always willing to go beyond the role of photographers by helping with things such as button holes (Which none of the ushers knew how to do). Their calming influence was also very welcome for all those in the wedding party. Both before and following the wedding we were well informed by Steve and Sandra, they were always trying to tailor things to exactly what we wanted. They ensured that we met in their studio for a pre-wedding shoot to get used to having our pictures taken, and at the venue itself to discuss where and when we would like photos.
