We did the beginners behaviour class with Sits n Wiggles and it was the perfect follow on for our puppy after his initial puppy classes! Leah is so knowledgeable and tailored everything so well to us. Brilliant for me as a first time dog owner. I felt able to ask lots of questions, and myself and the pup learnt loads! Would definitely recommend for owners of dogs at any age. More...

Leah and George were amazing with my puppy Marco. We went to their 6 week puppy training course which I cannot recommend enough! We were taught some brilliant techniques which we use and reinforce every day which have been invaluable. Leah really gets to know the dogs and makes sure their specific needs are being met and the techniques work for their personalities. Marco is quite a nervous puppy but Leah and George were so kind and patient with him and never compared him to other members of the class and were very reassuring to me as well, and his confidence grew every week. He loved going to training class and got so excited for it every week which was lovely to see! My dog is now more confident with other dogs, waits before crossing the road, travels well in cars, comes back when we call, leaves food when we drop it and so much more. And I am a much happier and more confident owner because of it! I can't recommend Sits N Wiggles enough and will definitely return. More...

My Greek rescue, Circe, adores Leah. She enjoyed her training sessions so much and learned a lot in a short time. Thanks especially for giving us the confidence to let her off leash.

Q&As

The look of accomplishment both Guardians and their dogs get when they take what they have learnt from my classes and apply them to work together.

My love of dogs has been very evident from a young age. I used to love watching dog training shows on the TV and when my favourite trainer/host created her academy I knew I just had to apply. I love training dogs, it simply brings me joy.

If a client chooses to work with me I go out of my way to make my classes accessible and enjoyable for my students both furry and human. I have been complimented on my creative ways to achieve what is asked of me, and treat clients how I would like to be treated if I were to use my service. You may be a client, but I'll train with you like a friend.

I do offer remote advice and lessons.

Please note, I cannot do remote consultations as I need to be with the dog to accurately reads their body language during different situations concerning the problem behaviour, so I do not feel this is a service I can provide remotely. I will, however, be happy to evaluate any videos of the behaviour.

When I started my business we were just coming out of the first lock-down since Covid-19. To keep my students safe, we ask that everyone wears a mask when attending class, as well as using the hand sanitiser provided. If I come to client's homes to work, I always wear a mask and carry hand sanitiser with me. I have also refrained from shaking hands, and unfortunately giving hugs when clients have expressed their wishes to do so when finishing a lesson.

Services

Consultations are where we begin, reviewing everything we already know about the dog and their history, any training you’ve already attempted, and the family dynamic within the home. All this will help construct your dog’s personal training plan, tailored to your dog and family.

Training will then begin, where we put your personal training plan into action, reviewing our progress at the end of every session to ensure that if any tweeks need to be made, that they are put into place as soon as possible, to set you and your family up for success.

You can have your Training Sessions together with your dog, where I will teach you what I am doing and why, and present some material for you to work on between sessions, or you can sign up for Day Training if your schedule is a little full. If you are out, Day Training requires a set of keys to be given to us so that we can access your dog to complete the training, before locking up, or if you are home we just need to be let in to access the dog. A written report will be delivered later that day so that you are kept in the loop and can keep training consistent between sessions.

All keys/alarm codes will be kept in our daycare facility in a lock box in the lockable filing cabinet and covered in our insurance, to be returned when training finishes or upon your request.

Puppy Classes are a great way to socialise your puppy in a clean, safe environment, while learning how to teach your new furry friend some all important basic cues to help you as you grow and learn together. At Sits ‘n’ Wiggles, we go through 12 basic cues in our six week course. All cues are emailed to you after class so you can work on them during the week between lessons.

We go through basic behaviours such as moving your dog from somewhere on cue to giving you space, before moving onto life skills such as target, crate and muzzle training. Even if you do not use these tools in your day to day life, teaching your dog to use and be happy using them will make a world of difference should the need to use them ever arise.

Our Clicker Class is a great way to get to grips with what a clicker is and how to use it. We go through different types of clicker, when to use it, as well as different techniques in using this little powerful training tool.

Weather you're already dabbling with using one, or have never picked up a clicker in your life, this class is a great way to learn how to utilise this great little gadget!
