I have been working with Ben for the last 7 years. It started out as singing lessons and I loved the way he teaches which is fun and rewarding while learning a lot in a short space of time. I then went to one of his Songwriting workshops and got hooked on songwriting and I have collaborated with Ben on about 40 songs I have written since then which are all on Soundcloud. He helped me put together an album of my songs as well. I love putting together songs with Ben and each session is different so always fun and rewarding. Thank you Ben for helping me achieving the goal, which was getting my voice out, as I used to be criticise by my father that I cannot sing. Now, I starting to proof that what I needed was a good teacher. I have had a few singing lessons with Anna which I couldn't recommend enough... to anyone! Anna gave me the confidence to explore my voice and also to perform live. If I could, I would have a lesson every week!

Ben also runs an afternoon of song writing and group singing which I have attended. I would recommend this to anyone interested in music - you don't need to be able to play or sing... just be yourself :D More...

Great singing lesson! In only 30 minutes, Ben helped me to sing the top note in Lately by Stevie Wonder, C#5, which I have never been able to hit before and thought was out of my range.

I learnt how to use fast acting vocal techniques which work immediately with the right guidance.

I've taken part in both the group singing lessons (brilliant value for money) and the individual tutoring. Each time I found Ben to be very encouraging, trying to adapt the learning style to suit my voice. In the individual lessons I tend to bring a song in and we go through it together. There's a good mix of theory and practice, and at the end of the session I usually find that I can sing the most difficult parts of the song that I really struggled with before. Last time we had a lesson I was practicing for an audition and after Ben's lesson I got the part! So it was definitely worth doing. More...

I've attended the workshops which are excellent for beginners and intermediate and great value for money and a way to meet new people. Ben has lots if knowledge and is very nurturing. An excellent place for recording, as well as a buzzing focal point for music making in the area. I used Artist Studios to record drums and violin for my latest album, and was delighted with the results- the staff expertise and top-quality facilities were just what my project needed. The building is a nice place to work, with distinctive original artwork on the walls, and a real sense of community, due to its doubling as a centre for vocal tuition and music workshops. We spent several weeks recording an EP here with the ever patient Ben Woodward. The whole experience was without flaws from start to finish. The professional gear we were using was way out of our price range so it was imperative to find someone to record with. One day we turned up early and heard some dulcet tones from a singing group he was teaching. Artist Studios appear to offer so much more than lessons or reccording; they're a friendly place, where you can really let off some steam in an environment that can be as professional or relaxed as you want. Ben really improved our sound, I'd recommend Artist Studios to anyone.
