Hi, I offer in person training at your home or mine, local park training and also online. I have over 12 years experience in helping clients achieve their fitness and health goals.

Shane is a brilliant PT who I've trained with for many years. I am very tall and when I started with Shane I was thin but in just a few months he had helped me transform my body shape, helping me build broader shoulders, bigger arms and chest and massively strengthen my legs and core. Since then he's kept me motivated and interested with new ideas, new workouts and different methods, helping me stay in great shape, having fun at the same time. I started exercise classes with Shane during the first Covid lockdown. At the time they were, of course, online. Previously I had been getting quite a lot of exercise (walking, running and cycling ) but these activities use only a small fraction of the body's muscles. I was quite weak in parts of my body and very inflexible. Shane's exercises have , step by step, worked on numerous muscle groups, in my back, arms shoulders etc, and as a result my overall fitness level has improved significantly and my body can now do things it wasn't able to do before and I move more easily. I have been training with Shane for the past 12 years. Training twice a week has given me a good level of fitness and well-being, as well as increasing my strength, stamina and flexibility. In my experience Shane provides a personal level of service that meets the individual needs of his clients, no matter their ability. This is particularly important to me as a wheelchair user, as I need a training programme that is specifically designed to accommodate my physical capabilities. I know that I would never have achieved and maintained the level of mobility I have, if not for the personal attention given in my training sessions. Shane is always very encouraging and clearly has an extensive and solid knowledge of his profession.

Shane encourages me to push myself harder, whilst maintaining a safe and sensible training programme. He ensures that my technique is always correct to avoid any injuries.

In addition, he is extremely reliable & punctual and very good value for money. I would not hesitate to recommend Shane as a personal trainer.

I started working with Shane online during lockdown, and in that weird time of isolation, our sessions quickly became a highlight of my week!
For 18 months now I have had a weekly session in person.
Shane is particularly thoughtful and meticulous in working out what might be your blocks and obstacles and years of bad habits (with me that included completely unused muscles and bad posture) and in designing stretches and exercises to overcome them. I started off as someone who was "fairly fit" (doing a bit of cycling, yoga and walking) but I've now gone way beyond that. Shane has helped me improve my upper body strength, general flexibility and balance and the sessions I have with him are the perfect all-round addition to the rest of my exercise regime.
As a 63 year-old woman, I now feel strong and resilient, my body shape has changed for the better and my friends tell me I look fit and trim.

In our first session, it’s important to understand what the client’s goals are. Understanding this gives me the information I require to be able to design a personalised training plan.

I also find out a bit about their history, training they’ve done, types of training they like/dislike, current diet, past and current injuries etc.

Through this process I get to know where my clients may need some extra attention, which could be flexibility or posture related or just areas where the muscles are weak. This gives me a very clear roadmap of how to make a bespoke programme for them.

The building blocks to getting the results you want are:

Sports and fitness have been a big part of my life from a young age. Growing up I played a range of sports including football, basketball and volleyball, as well as being a keen runner and surfer.
As I got more serious about sport I got into weight training and nutrition. I felt this was a specialty I would love to work in as I enjoyed training my friends and family, and offering advice where I could. I received positive feedback, and therefore studied to obtain the qualifications I required.
Over the past 12 years of running my fitness business, whilst working in gyms, parks, peoples homes and online, I have helped many clients achieve their fitness goals, in a fun, relaxed and motivating way.

Yes, I started training my long term and new clients online during the pandemic and have been pleasantly surprised by how effective it is.

Being thrown into online classes due to the pandemic has allowed me to understand how to effectively provide training online without physically being in the same room as the client. I’m able to demonstrate the correct technique and adjust clients form, while also providing motivation and getting results!

Through the lockdowns I trained my clients online. When the lockdowns lifted and I trained people in person, I would wear a mask, use sanitiser to clean equipment and machines and I also keep up with my vaccinations.
