We had our house extended a couple of years ago and the builder fitted it with a mixture of radiators and underfloor heating which all seems to work well when it’s on full time in the Winter or off in the Summer but we found that during Spring and Autumn when the heating was clicking on and off with the change in temperature the boiler vessel would suddenly lose pressure and switch off with a pop in the middle of the night. Because this was only happening every so often and during the night, no-one had been able to work out what was going wrong. We asked Scott Reid at Scofi Plumbing to see whether he could diagnose the problem. He took a look at our heating system and calculated that the pressurised vessel was probably just not large enough for the system we are trying to run. Scott added another vessel to the system and that seems to have done the trick. It’s such a relief not to wake up in the morning to a surprise cold shower! I’m very happy to recommend Scott and his team at Scofi Plumbing. Everyone we dealt with was friendly and efficient and they were able to attend us very quickly, obtain the parts needed within 24 hours and fix it all without any fuss. They were very tidy and the only way to know they’d been here is that the house now feels cosy and warm. We will certainly be using Scofi Plumbing again for any of our plumbing needs. I got 5 different quotes for a new Combi boiler and I was really impressed with the approach by Scofi. Scott totally understood my requirements (including replacing a couple of radiators and installing an extra one that I wanted). He is very knowledgeable and was able to offer me the best solution without the typical salesman pushiness that others use. If you need a plumber, look no further! ???????????????????? We originally booked Scofi Plumbing & Heating for a boiler service, but after completing the service he wasn’t 100% happy with the readings and he sought advice from Ideal Boilers to be sure. Scott didn’t charge us for the service because he knew we’d have to pay out again for the Ideal Engineer call out and work... and his instinct was spot on as several parts were replaced and the cost was less than he would’ve been able to do for us. Scott then came to our rescue a short time after when we tried to install a Nest thermostat and heat link, giving advice over the phone and by message, but despite our best efforts it wouldn’t work - luckily, he was able to attend the next day to install using proper connectors. Scott is genuinely polite, friendly, knowledgable, trustworthy, honest, reliable and an all-round pleasure to deal with. We already have plans to book in with Scofi Plumbing & Heating to fit some new radiators, and I highly recommend him for all your plumbing requirements! More...
