Dear Sara, I am sorry to hear you are not happy. Apparently your upset is not with our work, which is good, but with the cost of it. I can see from your file that you did send in an email complaining about the price and I understand why you feel we are "resistant to discussion", since the response didn't agree with your arguments. I assure you, though, we are not at all resistant to discussion and are happy to discuss this further with you. So far all that has happened is that you wrote to us, saying it was too expensive. We responded we did not feel so, based on various factors we reviewed. We explained that the height of the building is the main consideration in our pricing and that, because your property is a tall three storey building, it requires certain skill-sets to work at this height safely. The job was further complicated by the fact that we had to climb up and over the roof to reach your valley gutters, which classifies it as 'four storey work', all of which makes it a two man operation for reasons of Health and Safety and this is also factored into the price. Yes, you were charged £265 for 30 minutes - but we are looking at 30 minutes of two specialists working at great height, in a dangerous environment. This was the price which had been agreed beforehand in writing with you, for the finished job. When we priced this up, we did not know how full your gutters would be and how long it would take, and it is our policy to honour our prices, no matter which way it goes. Had the gutters been fuller than expected and the clean taken longer than anticipate, you would not have been charged more. These are and were the arguments we presented in our email to you. However, we remain open to discuss this matter further with you, if you still find this unjustified. As I said, we are not resistant to discussion, we simply at this point still hold a different viewpoint. We will give you a call on Monday to discuss things on the phone and we would like to find a resolution with which you will be happy as well. In the meantime, we wish you a nice weekend. The gutters of my semi-detached were sorely in need of clearance. Sam`s Gutters sent a chap around and tackled the work front and back efficiently and without fuss. My only quibble would be on cost. Hence only 4 stars. Being a pensioner £145+VAT is a little steep. Next time I`ll see if I can co-ordinate with my neighbour and perhaps we can negotiate for a cheaper rate. More...

This appointment was booked to clean gutters. First of all, the engineer reported at wrong address and had to be redirected to correct address. An appointment was made - the guys turned up on the right day at the right time. They cleaned out my gutters then advised on repairs, showing photos of the issues. They then carried out the repairs, detailing cost before they started. I then received an invoice. Sam’s Gutters have given us great customer service. After contacting them about an urgent repair I needed to my gutter down pipe they telephoned me to make an appointment and kept me informed throughout as the appointment needed to be re arranged due to freezing weather. Forgive me not remembering all names; a lady from the office ensured the work could be carried out on inspection and gave me lots of helpful supporting information to discuss with my loss adjuster as my leaking pipe had damaged my neighbours property. Ben and Jacob arrived and sorted the pipe, re attached the soffit board, which I had already asked about but also noticed an end cap needed replacing on my bay window and replaced it. Brilliant! Thank you - service was 5* from the initial quote up until the date the work was completed . Adam is really honest and was helpful in answering all my questions . He for sure showed he had the relevant skills to do the job . I’ve had many workers doing the odd jobs for me and they lack the skills to do anything - useless , so I was super happy with the care he took to explain . Felt a bit sorry for him carrying all these tools in and out the house though . From initial contact to today the standard of care has been excellent . Staff on site arrived punctually, worked diligently and cleared & repaired gutters, taking the moss and debris cleared away with them. Alfie and Isaac did my gutter cleaning for me. They turned up on time and were polite, helpful and friendly. I especially appreciate their efforts, as access to the roof was difficult. The company will be sending me a quote for a minor repair and some photos of the work which was carried out, which is all very useful. To make this a fair review, I do need to mention that there was a glitch with assessing access for the job in the first place; this wasn't carried out by Alfie and Isaac, so this is no reflection on them at all. I feel that this could have been done better and would have saved a bit of time all round. If it weren't for this, I would have given this review 5 stars. More...
