About

believe that education should be accessible for all, no matter your health, needs or background. As a teenager, I struggled at high-school and had poor attendance due to what I now know is a condition called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. At the time, I found it incredibly challenging to attend school, and even when I was at school, just walking between classrooms and focusing on lessons was a huge challenge for me.

Really happy with my son's tutor, she's fantastic at supporting his dyslexia and he's already getting better feedback from school.

Sammie Allen and her team have been absolutely fantastic at supporting my 8 year old son with his Maths and English. His progress at school has been outstanding and I am just so pleased with his attitude to learning.

Highly recommend Sammie Allen Tutoring and her team we started using her about 2 years ago when our daughter was struggling in main stream education. She has transformed our daughter into an engaging, highly motivated and independent learner who has just recently finished doing her IGCSE’s something that we could not even imagine 2 years ago. Sammie’s dedication and patience is exemplary and her attention to detail and recognising your child’s learning needs is outstanding, so much so she aided in the diagnosis of my daughters severe dyslexia something that was missed in main stream school despite raising concerns in her earlier education. It has been a great success and we look forward to our daughters exam results and her next stage of college education.

A massive thank you Sammie for all you have done!!!

Q&As

I believe that education should be accessible for all, no matter your health, needs or background.
It is because of my own challenges in education that I created SAT - an environment and learning provider who understands medical and special educational needs because we ourselves have been there, and as such, we understand the emotional and physical toll that education can have on a young individual. It is our belief that education should have the student at its centre, and that the student should actively be encouraged to use their voice to choose and design their own bespoke package of education that truly caters for their needs and ambitions.
To do this, we have a team of experienced, friendly and passionate tutors who are able to deconstruct difficult concepts to help students learn. As a result, we are able to support students with their SAT's, 11+, GCSE's and A-Levels.

As online tutors, the technology we use is crucial to providing a good education, especially in these times! But how do we make sure online learning is fun, interactive and inclusive? For over a year now, we have been practicing high quality learning through different platforms such as Zoom, Skype and Bitpaper, and we have become pretty good at it! So let us tell you how we do it...
BitPaper is an interactive whiteboard which allows you to upload pictures, videos and PDF documents. This means that during the sessions we are able to prepare worksheets, reading documents and even links to websites and games. The pages located at the side of the BitPaper allows you to save and record previous work. This is fantastic for observing the progress from each lesson. The student is also able to access Bitpaper and can work through worksheets with us, as if sat next to each other!
Alongside BitPaper, our tutors use Skype or Zoom. The features of both mean that screens can be shared, lessons can be recorded, and both applications are very reliable!
We can use Bitpaper to cater for children with Specific Learning Difficulties too. For example, in the case of a dyslexic student, we have the opportunity to change background colours, space out lettering and even record the session to ensure that learning can be revisited at any time! It really is a goldmine for specific needs.
So don’t pass up on online learning before you’ve given it a go! We take pride in the lessons we produce and take time to ensure that quality learning is available to all, and we are very proud of it.

When the first cases of covid-19 hit back in March, tutors were forced to move from the wonderful, interactive face to face sessions to staring blankly at a computer screen, whilst attempting to avoid staring at the top right hand corner of Skype. We had to lock the family out of the living room, argue with BT about the terrible signal, and say “can you hear me?” about 1000 times a day.

So how did we cope? How did we adapt? Well the story of the movement to online tutoring was not an easy one, but it’s safe to say, that what we have all learned in the last couple of years at Sammie Allen Tutoring is that good education is available to all, no matter the circumstances. With the right training, and the right equipment, high quality teaching became achievable. Living room sofas and kitchen tables became the new classroom, the new area of inspiration and creativity, and many had to adjust to finding new ways of keeping children motivated!
It opened a new world into what online learning can do! Creativity began to flow through all of us and, as you can see, quality learning became easy.
Our tutors at Sammie Allen Tutoring have gone above and beyond to ensure that one tiny screen can be the eyes into a new world of learning
